Be the 'I' in Kind Assembly
January Kind Award Recipients L - R: Lilly Lamb (5), Blake Hagman (K), Michael Gantner (6), Barron Kluck (8), Harper Welsh (6), and Wyatt Nett (2).
I AM TREASURED!
On Wednesday, students gathered together to congratulate the December Be the "i" in Kind recipients. Next, students learned about the January bible verse and I am statement: I AM TREASURED: You have been set apart as holy to the Lord your God, and He has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be His own special treasure. Deuteronomy 14:2
Finally, the 3K-3 grade students created a treasure chest project and put a picture inside the chest to represent that they truly are God's treasure. The 4-8 grade students went on a treasure hunt, found clues to a reflection question ("What three treasures has God given to me to share with others?") that they spent some time journaling about.
Are you sharing your God-given treasures with others everyday?

Franki Moscato Performance at Shepherd!
Franki appeared on the popular American Idol TV show in 2019 and won a golden ticket to perform. She travels around the country promoting her platform which includes "Be Kind," with a focus on anti-bullying, and teen suicide prevention. You can find more information at: https://frankijo.com/about/
All parents, grandparents, parishioners, and community members are invited to our school on Wednesday, January 31 to witness a stellar performance by Franki. She will have two different performances each geared toward specific age levels. At 9:30 am, 3K-3 students will hear and see Franki focus simply on examples of kindness and supporting music that encourage kids to be kind to those others who we know need it the most.
Then at 11:00 am, grades 4-8 will engage in a presentation that also includes kindness, but Franki will dive deeper and the conversation starts with anti-bullying, but infers suicide prevention.
This is a FREE event for all ages, both young and old. Bring your friends and family to an unforgettable morning at Shepherd!

Kids Heart Challenge - Thank You!
Shepherd of the Hills Catholic School Families,
My name is Jackie and I am your school's American Heart Association representative. I work with Mr. Thomas for the Kids Heart Challenge service-learning program.
The American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge has wrapped up and you've done an incredible job!
Thank you for opening their hearts and supporting the mission of the American Heart Association. Together we have built a safer community by learning hands-only CPR, 4 signs of stroke and heart-healthy habits all while helping others.
Together, we've raised over $3,300 to build healthier lives!
