Welcome to another week of online learning. We are so excited about the amount of engagement your children (our students) have committed themselves to during this process. It is awesome!

You should have received a letter from your child's homeroom teacher on Thursday, 4/9 in order to touch base with all parents. Please know that we are happy to help in any way we can as we all continue working together to support your child(children) during this unprecedented time in our world.

Below you will find a link to our Daily Lesson Plans for the week of 4/13/2020. Please make special note of the 'turn-in' assignments due (these will be the graded assignments your child will need to complete and 'turn-in' each week). You will also find a link below to our online reading program (Pathblazers), online tools to help with the 'turn in' of assignments, and a link to the Grading Policy for the 4th Nine Weeks (COVID-19 District Updates dated April 8, 2020).

Here is a short video to explain how your child can access 'text to speech' read aloud on any programs that do not already provide the read aloud icon. HMH, Pearson, Discovery Ed, Nearpod all have a read aloud icon, however Google Slides does not offer the text-to-speech option. This is a very short and simple 'how to' add that option.

A big thank you to those that have sent in baby pictures already.

To those that have not, this is a gentle reminder that we NEED your child's baby picture. Please email ONE BABY PHOTO of your child to: mathews5thgrade2020@gmail.com Please have the photo labeled by your child's LAST NAME, FIRST NAME and limit the photo size to no more than 2.5MB.

Please start going through your pictures and submit them for the 5th grade graduation Slideshow. We are looking for pictures featuring two or more students from kindergarten (2014) through 5th grade (2020) at Mathews only activities such as classroom parties, field trips, Field Day, first/last day of school, dress up days, recess, etc. If it has 5th graders doing Mathews things, we want it. NO birthday parties.

Please email mathews5thgrade2020@gmail.com to send your pictures for the Slideshow. Please label in email subject line: Grade level at the time the picture was taken, event and students’ names. It will help keep pictures in chronological order.
