A Message from Principal Boucher
SLPHS families,
It is starting to feel like spring, and summer will be here all too soon. We remain focused on ending the school year strong despite the allure of the beautiful spring weather. Our students and staff have learned from, through, and in spite of the challenges of the past year, and that continues through early June.
Last week’s announcements about the plan to lift many restrictions in the coming weeks is encouraging and welcome news. At school, we will continue to follow the state’s Safe Learning Plan through the end of the year. Given the latest news, we’re very hopeful we’ll be returning in the fall to a more normal school experience.
In these remaining weeks of the year, we’re celebrating our seniors who will soon move on to their lives after high school. Last week, after the senior class meeting, students joined us on the stadium field to pick up yard/window signs provided by the Panther Foundation (check out the photo!). Seniors unable to attend may pick up their sign from the main office.
Today is National School Nurse Day, and I want to recognize our school nurses, Mindy Bellomy and Jess Oliveira Neto, for their steadfast commitment to our school and each and every student. Our nurses have been incredible partners this year in helping us maintain the health and safety of students and staff. We’re grateful for them and celebrate them today.
Finally, with the end of year approaching I want to encourage any families who are planning a move prior to the start of next school year, to let us know your plans. We want to work with families on any transitions including the return of any technology and materials. We’ll have more information for seniors in the coming weeks.
Thank you again for your ongoing partnership. Together, we make bright futures!
Matthew Boucher
Principal
They've got our back: Our school nurses make us Panther Proud
Our school nurses have had an incredible year. We couldn't have navigated a pandemic year of learning without them. On this National School Nurse Day, we recognize our SLP school nurses and all they do to keep us healthy, safe and learning. Hear from Becca Williams, our lead nurse, on what makes her SLP Panther Proud.
Grades 9, 10,11: 2021-2022 course registration request letters coming soon
Families of current students in 9th and 10th grade students will receive their 2021-2022 course registration request letters in the mail the week of May 17. The request letters break down what learning model and course selections your student has chosen for next school year.
The week of May 24, 9th and 10th grade students will work with staff to look at their requests, complete a Career Cluster Finder (career inventory tool), and map out their long-term learner map. During this time, students will be able to request changes to their schedule for next year. Any changes should be directed to their current counselor.
Current 11th grade students will work with high school staff either May 19 or May 24 to review their requests, complete a Career Cluster Finder (career inventory tool), and map out their long-term learner map. Families will receive their student's request letter in the mail after this date. Like the other grades, juniors will be able to request changes to their schedule during this time and should direct schedule changes to their counselor.

Class of 2021 Senior Spotlight
The Spring Lake Park High School Class of 2021 has experienced an unusual senior year. We are proud of our seniors and their resilience in navigating these incredible times while continuing to work hard, achieve great things and plan for their future.
Whether they pursue further education, a career or trade, task a role with the military or do something else altogether, these students have been an invaluable part of our Panther community. We know they will go on to do great things.
We have asked our graduating seniors to share their plans for the future, favorite experiences and what makes them Panther Proud. In the coming weeks, we will continue to share student spotlights as we celebrate the Class of 2021. Read more about each spotlight's time at SLP here.
