Next Generation Science Standards &
NH College & Career Ready Standards:How Do They Go Together?
Come spend the day collaborating with colleagues..
The presenter will provide attendees with an overview of the new Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and examine the connection of the NGSS to the Language Arts Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
As a result of attending, participants will:
1. Understand conceptual shifts that exist in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS);
2. Understand how the three dimensions of science: Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts, are integrated into student performance standards;
3. Examine the connection of the NGSS to the NH College and Career Ready Standards;
4. Identify literacy goals common to NGSS and NH College and Career Ready Standards;
5. Utilize vocabulary strategies to help students with concept formation; and
6. Utilize literacy strategies to teach students how to access science content.
Participants will be introduced to both vocabulary and reading strategies that will enable students to access and understand science content.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellation should be made in writing. A full refund will be made for cancellations postmarked, or sent via email, 7 days before the event.
No refunds will be given for requests received after 7 days before the event, or for "no shows". We do accept substitution of another person at our conference. 24 hours of notification is appreciated.
All received registrations are subject to Cancellation/Refund policy. Cost of registration fee is still liable whether payment is paid or unpaid, if no notice of cancellation is received at least 7 days prior to the event.
If minimum requirement enrollment is not met prior to the early registration deadline, the event may be postponed or canceled.
