Poppy Fundraiser Information

  • PLEASE have your students fill out the top of the fundraising form. Student writes their name, your name, and grade level (This is for Poppy so we know who the order goes back to after we fill it), the top line should say that money goes to support Claxton OR get specific and say The Leader In Me/New Playground.
  • Note that the date for COLLECTING forms has changed. Students will need to send forms AND money in on Friday, May 13th. ALL payment is due at that time. Checks need to be made to Claxton PTO (not Claxton, not Asheville City Schools)
  • Popcorn will be delivered to school on Thursday, May 19th and will be sent home with students. (it will be pre sorted and labeled thanks to Poppy--literally just send home)
  • Students with large orders will need to pick them up on Friday Morning OR at pick up on Friday afternoon. Someone from Poppy will handle those larger orders

End of the year Testing- Last 2 days!

We will be assessing End Of the Year (EOY) reading levels Thursday 5/11 and Friday 5/12.

Please send your child with a good breakfast and confident energy.

As part of the state requirement for first grade, students are assessed at the end of the school year in math and reading skills. This is to measure the progress we make in the classroom. Testing can be stressful for a child so be sure to discuss with them how excited you are to see how much they have grown this year. Please Remember that May is an important month for all students. Breakfast and sleep this time of year is important! They are going to do a great job on all the assessments and I know they will make you proud.

We have enough snacks to last us about a week more. We will accept donations of any snacks to last us the 4 remaining weeks. Thank you so much : )
