We Love Our Volunteers!

Many of our fifth graders met parents outside earlier this week to distribute the beautiful flowers made by Ms. Eileen Brehm and the students in our after-school program. These are small tokens of our appreciation of all that our volunteers do for our school! Although this year looks quite different, the support of all of our volunteers is still what makes our school the wonderful place it is!

Thank you for ALL that you do!

Linkit! for Parents

This week you should have received a district-level email providing you with directions on how to access your child’s Linkit! Account. Here you will find some historical and current assessment information. Linkit! is a new platform for GPS and the teachers have been working hard this year to interpret this data and use it as an instructional planning tool. It is not used to evaluate the students. We examine new data aligned with other measurement tools, such as how the students are performing in the classroom if there are standards the students have already mastered or standards that may require additional instruction. We have a plethora of information that allows us to continually evaluate our practice and meet our students’ needs. We hope that you continue to support us in our year-long Linkit! study and trust that we will continue to make the best instructional decisions for each child. We will continue to keep you informed of your child’s educational experience.

Bus Route Changes

Parents and Students of JC Bus 2,

Starting Monday, May 3, 2021, the Davis Avenue Bridge will be closed for approximately 4 months. The I-95 detour will take place between Davis Avenue & Mead Point Drive, and Indian Harbor Drive & Orchard Place.

As of now, the pick-up times will remain the same. However, if timing should be affected, We will send you an updated route. We need to let the bus run for a couple of days to observe accurate timing.

Thank you,

The GPS Transportation Department

Reminder: Important Testing Information for Grades 3-5

Dear Parent and Families:

The children began taking the assessments this week and they are doing a great job! They are truly putting in their best efforts and persevering when things become challenging!

Please review the Julian Curtiss Assessment Schedule, which has been slightly revised, and note the following:

  • Please do your best not to schedule appointments during the times your child is scheduled to be taking an assessment.
  • Please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a good breakfast the day of the assessment.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to one of us.
