All Learning Connection communities will become unavailable on or after January 1, 2020. Plans for additional phases of retirement for the Learning Connection are being developed and will be communicated as plans are completed. The retirement of Learning Connection communities feature will not affect access to ISTAR-KR or Indiana IEP.
The School Finance community of the Learning Connection will be discontinued as of July 1, 2019. To stay up-to-date with announcements and information regarding the Office of School Finance, please subscribe to this newsletter.
Update regarding STN Finance Application Center
School corporations and charter schools currently do not have access to state tuition support worksheets in the STN Finance Application Center (State Aid) while the Office of School Finance completes work on the FY 20 state tuition support formula. The Form 54 Monthly Tuition Support Distribution Report remains available. Worksheets will not be available for at least one week or more. If you have questions regarding a worksheet, please email Melissa Ambre or Amy Pattison.
School Technology Advancement Account
The Office of School Finance will accept School Technology Advancement Account applications from June 19 through July 12, 2019. Per Indiana Code 20-49-6-4, there is $5 million appropriated for STAA loans. School officials can use STAA funds for the purchase of computer hardware and software to be used for student instruction and for the development and implementation of innovative technology projects. The loans must be executed by June 15, 2020.
The application process for STAA has been changed in recent years. School officials interested in submitting a STAA application can complete an online application here. Please note the application must be completed in one sitting as no applications can be saved and revisited on the website. You may download a sample application and the certification page from Moodle that can be completed and used to assist with the online data entry.
If you have questions concerning this memo, please email Skii or Melissa here.
Annual Financial Reports
Please note that the Annual Financial Report required to be submitted through the State Gateway per I.C. 5-11-1-4 is a separate requirement and falls under the authority of the Indiana State Board of Accounts. Submit questions related to this requirement to annualreports@sboa.in.gov.
The template for the Annual Financial Report may be obtained under the Files and Bookmarks tab in the Annual Financial Report folder. If you have questions concerning the Annual Financial Report, please contact Skii Ficklin by telephone at (317)232-0844 or by email.
