Message from your Proud Principal

Thank you to all the parents who took time to invest in their student's education this week. When families are stakeholders in their students' education, there's a positive impact on student success. When families get involved and engaged in their child's education, students are more likely to graduate, earn higher grades, improve their attendance, and go to college. At Parsons, we see this impact! From parent teacher conferences to All Pro Dads, YOU put your child's education first.

It's been a busy week so take time and enjoy the weekend with your kiddos! I wanted to share a happy moment with you to get your weekend started. As I was walking around and visiting classrooms this morning, I walked in and saw this special moment. It's our PreK students celebrating Friday! I hope this puts a smile on your face like it did mine. Happy Friday!

Instructional Resources Public Review

Staff, students, parents, and Gwinnett community members are invited to provide input on proposed instructional resources for select courses in Language Arts, Social Studies, Career and Technical Education, and Foreign Language/ Dual Language Immersion. Before adopting instructional resources for classroom use, GCPS undergoes an extensive selection process. Multiple committees involving various stakeholder groups were convened to select resources to consider for adoption. The resources were reviewed for alignment with the school system’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum as well as strength of instructional strategies, freedom from sensitivity or bias, and diverse representation. Data from the public review and classroom pilots will be considered in making adoption recommendations to the Board of Education in early 2022. This year’s public review opportunity is now open, from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. To begin the review, please visit this link. Thank you for your interest.

All transportation changes must be made in writing. We will utilize this form to create the appropriate afternoon transportation pass. Please remember the GCPS Bus Rule: no passes will be issued for play dates, birthdays, weekend sleepovers, etc. For security reasons, we DO NOT accept transportation changes through phone calls or emails.

Student Check Out

Anyone checking out a child must present photo identification and be listed in our system as someone able to have access to the student. If you need to make changes to your list of approved emergency contacts, you may make changes on the Parent Portal or stop by the office to update this information.
