Summer Learning

To succeed in school and life, children and young adults need ongoing opportunities to learn and practice essential skills. This is especially true during the summer months.

Many Americans have a wonderful image of summer as a carefree, happy time when "kids can be kids,” and take for granted the prospect of enriching experiences such as summer camps, time with family, and trips to museums, parks, and libraries.

Waco ISD Summer Food Service Program

Waco I.S.D. will once again be sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

This program serves free breakfast and lunch to any child ages 1 - 18. Any child between 1 and 18 year's old can participate in the summer 2015 program by showing up at any site across the city on the days of operation and during the serving time(s) indicated below to receive meals free of charge.

There will be sites open all summer from Monday, June 8, 2015 through Friday, August 21, 2015. Please note the meal types, dates and hours of service at each location below.
Meals are strictly prohibited from being served before or after the scheduled serving time(s).

Camp Wonderopolis

Camp Wonderopolis is a free online summer-learning resource fueled by the imagination and expertise of the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL). As an extension of Wonderopolis, Camp is designed to pique both a child and adult’s natural curiosities about the world through Maker activities, 42 Wonder lessons, and lots more fun along the way. Counselors (parents and educators) can track a Camper’s or Campers’ progress throughout the summer or school year — and even sign up to participate themselves!
