Thank You PTA

A big "THANK YOU" goes out to our awesome PTA for an incredible PV Fall Family Fest. They planned and asked for help and many of you jumped in, for a couple hours of work, to create a great event for all our panthers. These events make school fun and bring our community together, but it just cannot happen without all of you giving of just a little bit of your time - and for the PTA board giving a little bit more of their time. Thank you to everyone whether you set-up, cleaned-up, served the concessions, decorated, ran an event, created decorations, sat at a ticket table, were one of the trunk-or-treats cars, or drove students around the pond for the hayride. Thank you to staff who were able to give time to be there, work there, and who donated a teacher-student experience to help the PTA raise dollars. And a special thank you to Amanda Kozar who coordinated this event. Please remember when you help out in any small way at any PTA event we can continue to provide these fun experiences that bring excitement and joy to your child(ren).

Conference Sign-Ups!

Don't forget conference sign-ups are open in Skyward this week and next week. This is the most important time for you to find out about the kind of learner your child is and how to help them be successful as they progress through each grade. Each grade level is unique in the concepts covered and the challenges so your child is never too old for you to learn the best ways to help them. Click here if you need directions on how to access the conference sign-ups in Skyward.

Keeping Kids in School & Healthy - Fall/Winter

As we move into these cooler/colder seasons we will all be indoors for longer periods of time. To help avoid the spread of any and all viruses, please check the condition and fit of your child(ren)'s mask(s). For a mask to be it's most effective, it must sit over the nose and under the chin. As kids grow, some masks become too small and some masks lose their shape and elasticity due to repeated washing and wearing. New masks may be in order. We do remind our students to reposition their masks during the day, but if they don't fit well, it means lots of readjusting for a child throughout the day.

Thank you for your help with this. We want to all be in school everyday!!

COVID-19 Free Testing for All D44 Families

Beginning Thursday, November 4, District 44 is now offering onsite COVID-19 testing to individuals who are symptomatic. This district has contracted with local company TriLabs to provide the testing, free of charge, to all staff members, students and their families.

TriLabs guarantees a faster turnaround time of 12-24 hours to receive testing results. Should a negative result be received, this would allow students to return to school faster.

All testing sites will be open from 9:00 am-1:30 pm Monday-Friday and are located at:

  • Butterfield Elementary, 2S 500 Gray Avenue

  • Glenn Westlake Middle School, 1514 S. Main Street

  • The Administration Center,150 W. Madison Street

Students and their families/guardians can visit any of the three sites. We hope to expand to all eight of our schools in the future and will keep you informed if we add sites.

Each of these three drive-up location sites will have designated parking spots for testing. A TriLabs employee will meet you at the car and perform the test, or provide a parent with a test, and instruct them on how to perform the test on their child.

Please click here for full details about the testing program. You can also click here for a full breakdown as to what to expect at the testing sites.

Parents should know this is optional; however, if your child is symptomatic, you can utilize these testing sites for your child as well as for anyone in your family.

Please know we will continue to accept results from offsite locations, including PCR tests and now; the district has decided to accept rapid tests from authorized testing locations. We will not accept at-home rapid tests.

Park View Attendance Line 630-827-4041

When you call the school to let us know your child will be absent, PLEASE call the attendance line number and not the school's main number. This will help our office to be able to answer phone calls that are not related to attendance. Thank You!

Treats For Troops Results

Thank you for sacrificing some of your Halloween sweets for our troops around the world. Park View families donated 126 pounds of candy this past week that will go directly to our troops through our VFW. Many troops will have a sweet surprise over the coming holidays.

Don't forget about all the opportunities our students have to be 'of service' to our community and beyond this coming week. Click here for the flyer which includes a list and deadlines. Thank you for any and all participation in this very worthy event. This is sponsored and organized by our PTA.
