The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board held a public meeting on Monday, April 3. The following are important news and notes from that meeting.

Our library staff, which includes teacher-librarians, library assistants, WKOA Coordinators, and WKOA Assistants serve our school communities in so many important ways, including the Five Pillars that guide their work:

District Receives Clean 2021-22 Financial Audit

School Board Approves Updated Policy DJC (Bidding Requirements) to include Community Benefit Contracts
During the April 3 meeting, the Board voted to amend Board Policy DJC to include community benefit contracts (or Community benefit agreements) for contracts exceeding $2 million. Community Benefit Contracts would require contract bidders to:
- utilize Oregon prevailing wage requirements to ensure quality wages for trade workers;
- make employer-paid, family health insurance available to workers employed in apprenticeable occupations on the project site;
- provide a minimum 20% apprenticeship utilization for apprenticeable occupations on the project site;
- and engage in good faith recruitment of minority, women, and service-disable veteran workers for apprenticeable occupations on the project.
