National SEED Project Seminar II
Continuing Conversations for Change
8:30am - 3:30pm┃November 8th, February 14th, May 8th
SEED participants work to develop individual and shared understanding of the complex relationships between self and systems by reflecting on personal experiences related to intersectional identities within the contexts of education and schooling. SEED II participants will continue to examine positionality and assess individual entry/leverage points to increase educational equity. The SEED II seminar will consist of three full day sessions. Each session will be preceded by three asynchronous study and reflection exercises. The anticipated schedule is as follows:
Session one theme: Gender and Sexual Orientation
September, October, November - resources for asynchronous study and reflection sent one time each month
Full day meeting - November 8th, 2023
Session two theme: Fatphobia and Ableism
December, January, February - resources for asynchronous study and reflection sent one time each month
Full day meeting - February 14th, 2024
Session three theme: Paradigm Shifts for the Future of Education and Schooling
March, April, May - resources for asynchronous study and reflection sent one time each month
Full day meeting - May 8th, 2024
Requirements:
- Participants must have attended at least six full sessions with their SEED I cohort.
- Participants commit to attend two of the three full day SEED II sessions.
- Participants commit to engaging with the monthly prompt and study materials in advance of each SEED II session.
