Principal's Corner

Welcome back, Staff,

Our JM Dads Club spent time filling the school's emergency water blue containers with fresh water in your class and in the big emergency container. This was a huge job and the Dads deserve a big thank you!

Students participating in the Oratorical, must attend Friday's dress rehersal at 9:00 am. Students who demonstrate the need for additional practice will be asked to practice with Ms. Gullickson at 1:40 pm. Reminder: Oratorical Assembly on Monday, January 26 at 9:00 am.

Check in with teachers on learning objectives posted in class. A walk through of all classes was conducted on Friday. The following teachers are meeting and exceeding the District's expectations for student friendly learning goals: Ms. Mandi, Ms. Milliken, Ms. Williams, Mr. Wooliever, Ms. Robinson, Ms. Kramer, Ms. Palmer, Ms. Gleghorn, Ms. Evans, Ms. Moran, and Mr. Mc Cord! I have ordered pre printed CCSS and pocket chart for you to use, but in the meantime I would like to see some variation of what the students are expected to learn posted in every classroom.

Attendance success! We have collectively improved attendance taking and verification documentation this past week. Thank you for your effort!

Ms. Kramer shared with me the dates for staff sessions with Ms. Lipson, Mediator on January 28 at 2:10 pm and on the 29th at 3:00 pm. All staff are invited and welcomed to attend. This is a confidential engagement.

This week's Teacher PD is dedicated to grade level collaboration. Well done everyone on your PLC collaboration this month. Your data analysis is solid!

Bon voyage, Ms.Palmer, Ms. Gleghorn, and Ms. Tarica! May you and your students discover gold in the foothills of Coloma! Don' t forget to write.

January 30, 2015 is a school day for teachers and students. To soften the impact I was able to make the day a minimum day schedule through a one time schedule change appeal. Please help to communicate this change with your students and families.

Special reminder to lock all personal valuables in a secured location. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.

We are working very hard on preparing the grant proposal for the Planning Phase of Next Generation Learning Challenges. Our focus on the grant will be creating space for teachers to learn more about personalized learning in the coming year through support, profesional developement, and staff fieldtrips to highly engaged school examples. To this end, we will have a site visit this upcoming Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. We will visit the lab, the library and a few classes. Please let me know if we can visit your class.

In partnership.
