September 22-26
Hopefully, the new Tic-Tac-Toe spelling packet was a help in doing spelling homework. Please make sure the activities are 3 in a row from the grid page, not 3 activities on a packet page. Everyone did well on this week's spelling test!
In math, we worked more on numeration and had a series of addition facts to try. During social studies we sewed and filled our "medicine" bags with natural items gathered from outside. We practiced the skill of translation by writing stories using Native American symbols and translating them to English, and also converting word sentences to number sentences. We used the "magic E" spelling words to write paragraphs with a partner. Roots Rock was a super assembly that got everyone up and moving.
Our Wampum effort is up and running. Wampum may be earned for listening, good manners, respect, kindness and helping...all facets of our Class Ideals. Wampum may also need to be returned as a reminder for actions we need to think about or ideals to keep developing. The Trading Post is open at the end of the week, and I'm happy to say we have many wampum savers who are not making impulse trades.
