Important Breakfast/Lunch Account Notice
Parents and Guardians,
As the end of the school year approaches at Greencastle Schools, we have to look at meal account balances and work to get them in the positive.
Starting May 1, 2018, there will be no charging of meals, breakfast or lunch. Please make sure to put money on your child's account or send money with them to school.
You may go online to see your child’s account balance or call your school cafeteria cashier.
Your child will be told, privately, if they have a low balance as they come thru the line or you may receive an e-mail.
An alternate meal will be served to students who go negative in their account. The alternative meal will meet nutrition guidelines, just like the regular tray lunch.
A low balance notification can be set up by you on-line in Skyward/Food Service if you so choose.
Any positive or negative balances will carry over to the next school year, except for seniors.
Questions please call Ms. Carrico at 765-653-3725 or email dcarrico@greencastle.k12.in.us
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Now is the time to ENROLL or RECONNECT your Kroger Plus Card to Help Earn FREE Dollars for TZ
TZ Parents and Guardians, Here is an exciting opportunity to help TZ with no cost to you…Kroger’s Community Rewards Program that links your Kroger Plus Card to the organization you would like to support. Each purchase made using the Kroger Plus Card will earn points for TZ. These points will be converted to dollars donated to TZ by Kroger throughout the year. You will need to “connect” your card to TZ each year. Below are simple steps to connect your Kroger Plus Card to TZ. Contact the school office if you have any questions about this program. This does not affect any other promotions or benefits you receive from using your Kroger Plus card (i.e., fuel rewards). This is an additional benefit to TZ.
For those that already have a Kroger account and a linked Kroger Plus Card
Note: Each December you will need to reconnect your Kroger Plus Card to the organization you wish to support. If you have already connected your Kroger Plus Card to TZ, we ask that you take a few minutes to reconnect your card to continue to support TZ.
This is the time of year that it is not uncommon to experience an increase in illness within our schools and community. The following guide provides information about the signs and symptoms of some common illnesses that we are currently seeing an increase in among our students. This is intended for educational purposes only. Many of these illness have similar symptoms. You should consult your physician for diagnosis and treatment.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Kessler, RN, BSN
School Nurse Deer Meadow, Ridpath, Tzouanakis
Note: Orders may be placed anytime throughout the year. However, if we don't have the size on hand, then we need to wait until we have enough to place another order. Thank you for understanding.
Volunteer in the Classroom, Eat Lunch, or Field Trip--Need Background Check On File--Good for One Year
At TZ we appreciate parents/guardians that would like to volunteer to assist in the classrooms and/or go on field trips. As a part of any volunteer activity, we must have a cleared background check on file for each person wanting to assist here at school or accompany a class on a field trip. New this year, we will require anyone going beyond the office that will have any interaction with students to have a cleared background check on file. Also new this year for all GCSC schools, a background check expires at the end of the school year, and a new background check will need to be completed at the start of the new school year.
I wanted to take time to clarify the limited/volunteer background checks. These background checks are free to our volunteers. A limited/volunteer background check is only good for one calendar year. If a volunteer wishes to continue volunteering after one year, they must submit a new application.
A link to the form that needs to be completed and turned in to the TZ office is below. You may also come by the school to complete the form. We do need to have a copy of your driver’s license to process the request.
Again, we appreciate your willingness to volunteer.
Mr. Strube
