Welcome
Emerald Coast Technical College and Northwest Florida State College’s Dual Enrollment program provides the opportunity for qualified high school students from Walton County, who meet the eligibility criteria specified in their district’s governing articulation agreement, to enroll in college courses while simultaneously enrolled in a Walton County public high school. Students receive both high school and college credit for these courses. Dual Enrollment students are exempt from tuition, matriculation, student access card fee and laboratory fees, and textbooks are provided by the district. Students who lose a textbook will have to repay the District for the textbook.

Student who are interested in participating in dual enrolllment at NWFSC must have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 higher and meet the dual enrollment entrance placement scores to participate. Students need to have completed their 9th grade year to be able to participate.
On this bulletin, it will give you information about the first steps of how to get started with the NWFSC dual enrollment process:

Note: This is the first of a series of 3 bulletins, stepping out the process for dual enrollment at NWFSC.

Student who are interested in participating in dual enrolllment at ECTC must have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.0 higher and must take the dual enrollment entrance placement test to participate. Students must be at least 16 years old on the first day of their program.
Please Note, not all the ECTC programs are available to dual enrollment students. Only the programs listed below are available for dual enrollment students.
Emerald Coast Technical College (ECTC)
If you are interested in participating at ECTC for the Spring 2026 semester....
Once ECTC has received your ECTC application, Ms. Lisa Jones from ECTC will send you an email (at the email you provided on the ECTC application form) with the date and time for the required parent/student meeting, this meeting will happen sometime in November.

****ECTC Testing Requirement****
ECTC does require all dual enrollment students to have a Pert Reading, Pert Writing, and Pert Math Score to initial apply. Student DO NOT need to have passing placement scores to apply or start their dual enrollment journey at ECTC. Students do need to have passing PERT scores at the end of their program at ECTC.
To make PERT testing arrangements to take the PERT test at ECTC, please contact Ms. Lisa Jones at ECTC at 850-892-1240 ext. 5182 and she will be able to assist you in scheduling the PERT test.

All dual enrollment students must meet all eligibility requirements (cumulative unweighted GPA and passing all placement test scores) in order to participate in dual enrollment. (p. 3 of the 2024-2025 Dual Enrollment Articulation Agreement ).
o The only exception to the eligibility rule is the Walton High School College Success Pilot Program. This pilot program is where WHS teachers teach face-to-face NWFSC College Success course at Walton High School in the fall semester. Students must have a cumulative unweighted 3.0 GPA and have met all WHS Pilot PERT scores (PERT Reading =84; PERT Writing=90; PERT Math= 96). Students must earn a “C” or higher in College Success in order to continue with the pilot program in the Spring Semester with WHS teachers teaching face-to-face NWFSC Critical Thinking course at Walton High School .
NWFSC Testing Center
TESTING CENTERS for PERT:
PERT testing is offered at Walton High School, $5 per test once in the fall and once in the spring.
PERT tests are offered at NWFSC campus every week and remotely from home. Cost: $15 per test, test scores will be available immediately after the test. Struggling to meet Pert Placement Score Testing??
NWFSC Niceville Campus Zoghby Learning Commons (ZLC) offers Pert Tutoring to all current dual enrollment students AND student that want to be dual enrollment students in the future. Click on the QR code to sign up for PERT tutoring from NWFSC. Tutoring can be done virtual or face-to-face.
Apply for a NWFSC Raidernet ID Number

This is a required component for you to register for NWFSC Dual Enrollment Process. You are not able to register for classes without this NWFSC Raidernet ID number. All new dual enrollment student must complete an Admission Application. Students who have a break in attendance or fail to attend in a term they sought admission, may need to submit a new application. Once you submit this application, it can take 3-7 business days to process your application and email you a NWFSC Raidernet ID number.
Go to https://www.nwfsc.edu/ click on the "admission" button at the top of the page and then click on "apply now" from the drop down menu.
Create a user account and select and complete the dual enrollment admission application.

TIPS for a Good Application:
- Follow standard punctuation, grammar, and capitalization rules.
- Complete all items on the application
- Use your LEGAL name: First, Middle, and Last Name
- Proofread each screen before saving and continuting.

- Concentration: Walton High School
- High School Code: 100390
- Home Address/City/ State/ Zip Code
- Personal Email Address
- Birthdate
- Social Security Number (this is option, but it will help located your records in the future)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please select the course of study: "AA Dual Enrollment"
- Please select the term in which you intend to apply for. If the incorrect term is selected and processed, this will cause a significant delay (5+ days) and you will need to re-apply before your registration form can be processed at NWFSC.
- Once you submit this application, please check email daily for a responses from NWFSC. NWFSC's email may be in your junk mail folder. They will send the email, the student has typed in on the application form.
- If you do not receive an email from NWFSC after the 10th business day, please email Ms. McKie and let her know she she can contact NWFSC on your behalf.
- Once you have received your NWFSC Raider Credentials (NWFSC email, NWFSC student ID number, etc.), all NWFSC communication will go to the NWFSC email. Please make it a habit to check your NWFSC email daily.

Creating a Dual Enrollment Appointment to Meet with Ms. McKie

In the 1st meeting we will go over:
- Information about how NWFSC Dual Enrollment works with WHS
- Graduation Check
- Placement Scores and NWFSC Raidernet ID Number (please bring these items with you)
- How to look for available courses on the NWFSC webpage
- Assist in filling out the NWFSC Dual Enrollment Registration Form Guide
- Add you to Ms. McKie's Dual Enrollment Group Remind Text messaging app
- Answer any questions about how NWFSC Dual Enrollment works
- Parent/guardian will create their Dynamic Forms account
You will have time to work out a schedule for NWFSC and talk with your parent/guardian to get their approval before we meet again. When you are ready, you will make another appointment to meet with me.
For the 2nd meeting we will go over:
- Your selection of NWFSC courses.
- Fill out the NWFSC Online Course Request Form
- Setting your WHS schedule (if needed)
- Next steps in the dual enrollment process.
**New** NWFSC Canvas Dual Enrollment Course

This is a new Dual Enrollment course requirement that needs to be completed by all new Dual Enrollment students (starting enrollment in the Spring 2025 semester and beyond).This course gives the DE student insight about how an online course looks like at NWFSC as well as information that is needed about the NWFSC registration process.
This course needs to be completed by the Dual Enrollment Student (not the Dual Enrollment Parent/Guardian) prior to the 1st meeting with Ms. McKie. Verification of completion (this is the last instruction step in the online course) should be emailed to Ms. McKie at least 24 hours before the 1st face-to-face meeting to schedule courses for the next semester. If Ms. McKie does not receive your email verification of this completed course, your dual enrollment appointment will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.
This course will take you between 30-60 minutes to complete. You, as the dual enrollment student, are responsible for the information that is shared on this online Canvas course.

Summer and Fall '25 Registration Timeline

- Starting on Monday, March 10th -- Make an appointment to see Ms. McKie to register for the Summer and/or Fall 2025 Semester. Appointment link (note: link will not be active until Monday, March 10th): https://WaltonHighSchoolDualEnrollmentMcKie.as.me/
- PARENT/GUARDIAN are required to be present for the Dual Enrollment Meeting for new first time Dual Enrollment Students. PARENT/GUARDIAN are highly recommended to be present for the returning Dual Enrollment Meeting. If returning dual enrollment parent/guardians are unable to remember or log into Dynamic Forms (parent approval account for dual enrollment forms) it’s highly recommended that you attend the dual enrollment with Ms. McKie to get assistance as she is not able to override your approval in the enrollment process due to technical issues. Not being able to log into dynamic forms to approval your child’s dual enrollment form will significantly delay and will affect their enrollment into fast filling NWFSC classes. NWFSC will not make accommodations or overload classes due to enrollment issues.
- Friday, March 14th -- Summer & Fall 2025 NWFSC Course schedule is available on the NWFSC website.
- Monday, March 24th -- First available appointment times to meet with Ms. McKie about Summer/Fall 2025 NWFSC Dual Enrollment.
- Monday, March 24th -- First day you can submit your Summer/Fall 2025 NWFSC Pre-Approval Form to NWFSC
- Monday, April 14th -- First day Dual Enrollment students are able to self-register for Summer/Fall 2025 NWFSC, if their pre-approval form has been completed.
- Monday, May 7th -- Last day to Apply for Dual Enrollment Admission (to create a NWFSC student ID number and NWFSC email) for the Summer 2025 term.
- Monday, May 12th -- Last day to submit NWFSC Pre-Approval Registration forms to NWFSC for the Summer 2025 semester. Note: Add/drop courses will be allowed to change beyond this date, but initial pre-approval registration forms must be submitted by this date.
- Wednesday, May 14th -- First day of Summer Classes (session 1 and session 2).
- Wednesday, May 21st -- Last day to add/drop classes for the summer semester(session 1 and session 2).
**Ms. McKie will be in Tampa grading AP Physics Exams for the Collegeboard from Thursday, June 5th – Tuesday, June 17th . There will be no dual enrollment appointments offered during this time frame and response time to emails, remind texts and signing off on dual enrollment forms will be delayed (but still completed within the same day) during this time...PLEASE PLAN AHEAD**

NWFSC Zoghby Learning Commons (Tutoring/Student Support Services/ Math Lab)
The Zoghby Learning Commons is a collaborative and engaging hub of academic support services for all students and faculty. It is primarily home to the Library, Academic Success, Tutoring and the Math Lab. The Zoghby Learning Commons also comprises other academic support services as well as independent and group study areas, computers, whiteboards and free printing services.
