Cyclone Central Remote Edition
April 24, 2020
A Message From Mrs. Rateno
TEAM Center,
I hope you and your families enjoyed our Spectacular Specials Week! It has been fun to see so many of our Cyclones come together this week not only to learn together, but to move, dance, build, and create artwork as well!
As we move forward with plans to continue with remote learning through the end of this school year, we know that many of you might be looking for resources and ideas for how to talk about this with your children. Suggestions for this are included in Mr. DiMarino's message below. Thank you to our elementary counseling team for researching and organizing these resources for our families.
As we move into next week, our staff will be planning a Remote Learning "Ketch-Up" Day on Friday, May 1st. Our goal for this day is to allow families time to "Ketch-Up" on assignments, time with your teachers, reading, wellness activities, our optional specials activities, etc... Our teachers will be available for support throughout the day, but no new learning will be taking place. Please use the click button below for more details about our "Ketch-Up" Day.
Our district and building staff members are working together to create memorable plans for closing out our school year remotely. As plans are finalized for classroom celebrations, student materials pick-up, 5th grade graduation, etc...we will communicate them to all of you. Thank you to all who have provided suggestions and are helping us to make the best of this unique end to our school year! For now, our only update is that yearbooks will not be printed until this summer. They will arrive in the fall of our 2020-2021 school year, and we will be sure to get them to all of you as quickly as possible once they come in.
I hope your family is staying well, and I wish everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. As always, please reach out if there is anything we can do to support your family during this time. We miss you all!
Sincerely,
Kate Rateno

HELPING HANDS
Cleveland Food Bank
In need of food? Contact Our Help Center at 216.738.2067
In 2012, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank launched a new benefits outreach initiative unique among food banks across the nation.
Our Help Center - dedicated to connecting food insecure individuals with the assistance they need – allows callers and walk-in clients the opportunity to complete an application for several government assistance programs. Clients can apply for SNAP (formerly food stamps) and more than 20 other programs with one of our benefits counselors. Calls are free and confidential.
In the Food Bank service area, one in six people are food insecure. For children, those numbers are more dismal. More than one in five children in our service area is at risk of hunger.
We understand that people need a helping hand during hard times. Many turn to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for help! We serve clients from Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Richland and Ashland Counties and we can connect those in need to partner agencies, hot meals and mobile pantries that are nearby. In addition, we can help you submit a SNAP application by phone!
Call us today at 216.738.2067 or toll-free at 855.738.2067.

How to Disable Unwanted Chromebook Pop-ups
