Pass the Book Video

Below is the link to the JISD Library Services Pass the Book Video. Librarians, librarian assistants, and an intern worked together to create this fun video. Rolling Meadows Librarian, Jennifer Heine, put all of individual videos together to create this masterpiece, and librarian assistant extraordinaire, Stacy Constantino from Veterans Memorial, created our ending slide.

Adult Book Clubs

We had such a great response from our adult book clubs that we've decided to create more opportunities with a series of Bring Your Own... Book clubs. First up, on Saturday, May 2nd from 7:00-8:00 P.M., we'll be discussing Julia Alvarez's Afterlife in our BYO...LitFic Book Club. This book is a beautiful piece of literary fiction that raises big questions about our responsibilities to care of others-- especially in times of crisis.

On Friday, May 8th, from 7:00-8:00 P.M., get ready for a Friday night fright with our BYO...Thriller Book Club. We'll be discussing Unspeakable Things by Jess Lourey, an adult thriller set in the 1980s and told from the perspective of a 13-year old trying to reconcile the innocence of childhood with the reality of a serial child kidnapper in this idyllic small town where nothing will ever be the same again. Note: This book has subject matter geared for mature audiences.

RME Continue Virtual Field Trips

Rolling Meadows virtual field trips supporting science instruction with the Texas State Aquarium began in October and continues from home! The April 21st topic was Octopus Encounter Dive "Dive into the world of cephalopods as we go behind-the-scenes to meet Lilo, the giant Pacific octopus! Discover the characteristics that all cephalopods share, meet one of Lilo’s keepers, and learn how we provide environmental enrichment for this intelligent animal."
