Keefe Regional Technical School

November 3, 2017 Volume 5

Happy November! The close of Term I is right around the corner. Students should be working hard in their courses and making sure that they are on top of their assignments. The After School Program is a great resource for students to get extra help with their classes and make-up time if they have missed a few days of school early on in the year.

Seniors applying to college should make sure they are on track with their application deadlines. Many early action deadlines are already behind us with a few November 15th ones on the horizon. Regular decision deadlines begin as early as January 1, 2018. Lots of college open houses are happening, make sure you go and visit the schools you are thinking about applying to and attending.

Clubs and Activities

Reality Fair was a Success!

Grade 12 students participated in a Reality Fair on Friday, October 27th. Students were asked to plan for their future by budgeting out monthly expenses based on the salary of a mid-level position in a career related to their Career and Technical Program. Stacey Lyskowski, School Counselor, organized the event with members of the Rotary Club. Thanks to a large group of volunteers, students rotated to different tables to make decisions regrind their "future" including, where they were going to live, transportation, clothing budget and lots more. All students met with a credit counselor to review their budget before leaving the event. Our hope is that our seniors have a better idea of managing their money, spending within their means and making appropriate decisions when it comes to their financial futures.
