A Note from Preschool

Happy Fall Preschool Families! It is hard to believe we are 7 weeks into the school year already! I want to thank all of our preschool families for their flexibility, understanding, and partnership during this time. Everyone has had to learn, adjust and problem solve along the way. Although frustrating at times, we have definitely experienced many successes and reasons to celebrate! Our preschool support team has been working hard putting together a virtual Parent Resource Center. It should be up and running soon and will include information regarding topics such as general development, speech and language, behavior, and potty training. Here is a resource with great tips to facilitate learning during on-line instruction. Remember to take care of yourself and choose happy!

Fondly,

Janelle Peters

Message from PTO

Hello AES Families, Teachers, and Staff,

We hope you are all having a great school year so far and getting excited to move into the month of October. We would like to announce to you all that because of your amazing support last year we were able to purchase $48,722.74 of new technology for our school at the end of last year. We purchased 5 HP Pro books, 90 iPads with cases, and 16 Apple TVs, this technology will play a role in supporting our students and staff in the learning and teaching process.

We are excited to announce to you, that this year due to COVID and a larger than normal rollover amount, our PTO board has voted to not charge PTO dues this year. What does this mean, you ask? We will be allowing for all our AES families, teachers, staff, and any community members, who are interested, to be a member of the PTO for free this year. We will share a link to our General meetings through the SMORE messages that our awesome office secretary, Ms. Joe’l, sends out. Our next General meeting will be Friday, October 23rd @ 2:30 P.M. We will have two other General meetings this year, one in January and one in April. We are excited to allow all who would like to participate, to come and join us in this year’s planning and discussions of how we can support our school.

Even though this year looks a little different than most, PTO is striving to help keep things as normal as possible and to support and encourage as much as we can. We hope to encourage everyone to stay strong and positive through our virtual shout out board. Do you know a student, teacher, staff member, or parent who is doing an amazing job at Learning Beyond the Building? You can send them a shout out to alamospto@gmail.com and I will share your shout out on our Virtual Shout Out board each Monday. Thank you to everyone who has already participated in our virtual shout outs and job well done to everyone who has been recognized. IF you have a family member who is a current or prior military member please see the flyer in this SMORE message on how you can honor them Virtually this year for Veteran’s Day.

PTO is still participating in Amazon Smile, Box Tops and Coke Gives. These are programs that we use to support our students at no additional cost to you. Check out the information below on how you can participate.

We have two fun Spirit Days planned for this month. October 9th is Sports day and October 30th is Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day. If you would like to participate in these days, send us some pictures of you and your family in your spirit day wear and we will share them on our Facebook, website , and in our Mission Possible Mondays. We love to see your school spirit.

Thank you to everyone who has supported PTO this year and in the past. We couldn’t do what we do without your support. If you have ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our PTO President at alamospto@gmail.com. You can follow us and stay up to date with important information on our website at https://alamospto.wixsite.com/alamoselementarypto and on our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AlamosElementarySchoolPTO.

We hope you all have a SPOOKTACULAR October and we hope to see you all in our next meeting.

Kindly

Casey Rendon (President) and the PTO Board
