Rescue workers went door to door on a Monday morning in Columbia, SC to help residents escape their homes from the historic flooding that swamped the entire state

In South Carolina, while the interstates are reopening, parts of about 225 roads remain closed Monday morning due to the recent floods. In addition, almost 100 bridges are closed either because of flooding or because of inspections checking for any damage. The Transportation Department also said that, beginning on Monday, they started a debris cleanup in four counties that were hit hard by the floods.
