From the Nurses’ Office
Illinois state law requires that all children entering kindergarten, second grade, and sixth grade will have an oral health examination. A licensed dentist must perform the dental exam and he/she shall sign and date the report form. Dental offices usually have the form, but the dental exam form can be obtained by clicking here, or by contacting your child’s school and requesting a dental exam form, or by visiting d303.org website under departments, then Health Services. This exam must be completed within 18 months of May 15, 2022.
In an effort to assist you in completing this oral health exam for your child, the Mobile Dentist will be on site at Davis on April 6 and Richmond on April 7, provided we have enough students for the Mobile Dentist to come. Please consider taking this opportunity of in-school care at little to no cost to you. The Mobile Dentist accepts Medicaid and private insurance. Self-pay by cash or check for $70 is also available for those without insurance coverage. Services provided are cleaning, screening, sealants, and flouride. Forms will be sent home and are available in the health office or by clicking www.mobiledentists.com. Please return the form by 3/14/22. Sign up can also be completed online by clicking here: My School Dentist
Students who had already signed up for the Mobile Dentist dates in February that were canceled, will be automatically signed up for April 6 & 7th unless you notify the nurse that you no longer want your child to visit the Mobile Dentist.
If you have any questions, please contact your school’s health office:

School Lunches & Breakfasts in Pushcoin
Starting Wed, Feb 23rd, all student school lunches, breakfasts, and beverages will be recorded in their pushcoin account. There will continue to be NO COST for lunches and breakfasts for this school year, but they will now be recorded through pushcoin, even though no funds are being used.
Just as a reminder, the school lunch consists of an entree, milk, and fruit or vegetable. Your child may select more than one fruit or vegetable if they wish, but not less than one. If your child wants to have a juice box or bottle of water ordered for lunch, there is a cost for that. Also, if your child wants to order milk only and not the entire lunch, there is a cost for that.
Juice Box $.75
Davis Richmond 2021/22 yearbooks are now available to purchase with delivery at the end of the year. Yearbooks are $20 each. Click the link to purchase through Pushcoin https://store.d303.org/#!/products/P2GD3MDUHX
Thank you to all who came out in support of our Culver's restaurant night!

This year, as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), we will now be participating in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. As a parent or guardian, this survey will provide you with the opportunity to share your thoughts on important elements of school effectiveness about your child’s school.
We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your suggestions for improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. So far 23% of Davis families have responded. Hello Richmond Families!
In art classes (grades 3-5), our students will be learning to upload a photo of their work onto Artsonia, the world’s largest online student art museum. It's a free, safe, educational program designed to connect parents and families with their child's creative activities at school. Many of you are familiar with Artsonia because we have used it in the past.
Founded over 15 years ago, Artsonia has been recognized with the national distinguished
service award for outstanding contribution to the arts by the National Art Education Association, as well as the distinguished service award by the state art associations in New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan and Colorado.
Families new to the Artsonia App, please look for the invitation slip that will come home from Artsonia. (It has a unique code for your child) If you would like to grant permission for your child to join our exciting school art gallery follow the directions on this slip or click on the link and enter your child's name and grade, along with an email address: https://www.artsonia.com/connect/6M2ZZPX2 (code 6M222PX2)
We participate only for the digital gallery and it is not necessary to purchase anything that Artsonia offers. Thank you for your support! If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at Julie.firstname.lastname@example.org.
5th GRADE HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION
Fifth-grade classes will be attending the Human Growth and development presentation on Friday, March, 11. The presentation consists of a narrated powerpoint, including a short video, and time to submit questions. The school nurses will review the questions and return answers to students within the week. Boys and girls programs are similar in content but will be presented and facilitated separately within your student's classroom. A letter will be sent to 5th-grade parents with more details via their classroom e-news. As a parent, you have the right to request that your child not participate in this presentation. If after reviewing the information you would prefer your child not participate, please submit a written letter to the principal by March 4, 2022, email@example.com. If you have any questions about the presentation you may contact your building Certified School Nurse, firstname.lastname@example.org or (331) 228-6648.
