Technology for Summer
As we approach the summer break, I wanted to share some technology information with parents. As an overall decision, students will be keeping their technology over the summer to access summer learning. If you do not want your student to keep their technology or you are leaving Northshore, your student will return their devices before June 17.
Please read the sections below to identify which sections is best for your family and student.
“Students will keep their devices this summer!”:
Students will be keeping their assigned computing devices over the summer months to allow for continuous learning. Students and families are expected to take care of their assigned device by keeping it charged and in its bag when not in use. Students who are enrolled in summer learning programs are expected to bring their device to summer programs each day. If families need support using their device or troubleshooting technical issues, they should call 425-408-7631 or create a help ticket at http://go.nsd.org/studenttechhelp.
For families withdrawing from the district - “Withdrawing students must turn in devices by June 17”:
Families who are withdrawing from Northshore are expected to return any technology devices assigned to their student, including computers, tablets, hotspots, and all accessories such as bags and chargers. Our school will be collecting devices on June 16 and June 17. Withdrawing students who do not return their devices and accessories will be issued a fine for replacement.
“Families who wish not to keep a device over the summer need to complete this opt out form.”
Families may not need or want to take their student’s device home over the summer. Families who wish to opt-out of keeping their student’s assigned device will need to indicate that they are “opting out” by completing the form at https://go.nsd.org/optout . This form will help our staff to plan efficiently for sending devices home for summer learning. When students return to school in the Fall, any student who does not have an assigned device will be assigned one for school year learning.
If you have further questions about technology over the summer, please reach out to Mr. Paganini at mpaganini@nsd.org or Ms. Welch at jwelch@nsd.org. Thank you.
Carnival Mixup - Help Needed!
I have heard from a family whose child's shoes were taken from outside the bouncy house. The shoes were a size 3, blue & black Nike Flex Runner shoes. The shoes were new and a recent gift. The ones that were left outside the bouncy house were the same, but very old and worn.
If your student went home with a different pair of shoes than they arrived in, could you please reach out to the front office? I'd really like to return this student's pair of shoes to them.

Book Swap Booth at CL Field Day - Elementary Books Wanted
Have you been going through your student's old books and wanting to find a good home for them? Please send them to the library or drop them off in the CL office any time between May 16 and June 13.
This year, we are bringing back our "book swap" event. This is a time when our students can come and take books they would like to read over the summer. The idea is our families/students donate books and then they can take some new books for them to enjoy.
This year, the event will take place during our school-wide Field Day.
Students will come by, choose a few books, put them in a labeled bag, then go to other stations. (No wet books!)
The books will be delivered to classrooms for taking home the next day, or may be picked up on the way home from Field Day.
Reminder of calendar change
Field Day is coming!
Field Day is Wednesday, June 15 from 2:15-3:45 PM. This will be a whole-school event. We need many volunteers to run the stations and to help make this event a success. We will need volunteers a little longer than the event, so volunteer hours are 1:45-4:15 PM. A few examples of stations are: arm wrestling, water cup relay, and oversized clothes relay. All volunteers must complete our background check process and need to be fully vaccinated, as well.
If you can help, please follow the sign-up genius link below and sign up to help run a station. You will not need to prepare in any way - all supplies and game directions (if needed) will be given to you. Just show up, help set up, and have fun! Thank you for considering! Y
