Spotlight on Strategies: Preparing for the SBAC Test
Canyon Rim 3rd-6th grade students will be taking the SBAC (Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium) state test this May 2-12. The test is taken online using a computer. In order to prepare for the state test, 3rd-6th grade students are currently taking SBAC Interim Assessment benchmarks. These benchmarks are helping students get used to the online format and using the Universal Tools which are available. In addition, teachers are reviewing the results to make instructional decisions as we approach the state test. Please use the links below to learn more about the SBAC:
Canyon Rim Celebrates Dr. Seuss's Birthday!
On March 2, Canyon Rim students celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday! Students came to school decked out in red and white hats. The Little Librarians visited classrooms to read their favorite Dr. Seuss book to the primary students. All students received a green eggs and ham treat. A big thank you to Mrs. Simkin, our librarian, the Little Librarians, and Mrs. Hartfelder, parent volunteer.
March Core Value: Fitness
To run a race and do my best,
I exercise to pass the test.
I get my sleep and eat good food.
Healthy thoughts improve my mood.
When I am fit to run the race,
The other horses I can outpace.
Your FITNESS level must be great.
SUCCESS requires a healthy state.
Students can earn raffle tickets for displaying the core value of FITNESS throughout the month of March.
