Message from the Superintendent
Hello Emery community!
We have reached the end of the academic year. It is an exciting time to celebrate the achievements of the past year. Our teachers, staff, parents and guardians have worked extremely hard to provide a safe learning environment for our students to thrive. The teamwork within our District and the community has been inspiring and helped us achieve important goals together.
This summer, I hope everyone rests well in anticipation of the school year to come and continues to follow safety precautions to stay healthy.
Congratulations to our graduating seniors and promoted 5th and 8th graders! We are so proud of you. We know that you will go on to accomplish amazing new goals. You will always be part of our Emery family.
I look forward to reconnecting with you all in the fall. Stay safe and have a wonderful summer.
Sincerely,
Dr. Quiauna Scott
Superintendent
End of Year Celebrations
Welcome to the Superintendent’s TK-8 Summer Reading Program!
As we approach the end of this remarkable school year, we encourage students to continue their love for learning this summer!
Literacy is important at every age. We encourage students to pick up a book this summer and spend time reading each day to help develop literacy skills and an interest in reading.
TK through 8th-grade students will receive five (5) books to take home that include thought-provoking stories related to social-emotional learning that were curated for our students by the Superintendent, Dr. Scott. We hope you can connect with, learn from, and truly enjoy the books enclosed!
To our families, the school district recognizes that family involvement is critical for children to succeed in school and life. If you can, please read with your child(ren) daily for at least 20 minutes. Perhaps, you can spend time discussing the stories, characters, places, events, and words. Also, encourage your child(ren) to read on their own and develop a love for reading. Please review the enclosed Scholastic Family Guide for additional information.
Parents and guardians are their child(ren)’s first and most important teacher(s), so we sincerely thank you for your partnership.
Have a wonderful summer break full of joy and reading!
