OMS Takes Steps to Success!
The assembly concluded with some test taking tips from high students and encouragement to do their best on the upcoming M-STEP assessment. The high school students provided fun games for our students to help make their point of what is needed to do well on a test. Our Superintendent, Mr. Haase, sent a fun video message to our students likening the test to training for baseball and assured them he knew they were going to hit a homerun!
Let the games begin!
You can do this!
March to Success!
Chad Garton,Kaitlynn Robinson, Joshua Sunnerville, Seth Stender and Alleigh Longstreet for leading us out of the assembly with their musical talents.

Our 7th grade science students have been challenged to review key vocabulary to help them be more successful on the M-Step! Students have been given a goal and if students achieve their goal by the end of April they will receive a pizza party! Good Luck!
OMS Field Trip Chaperones
ATTENTION 8TH GRADE PARENTS, GUARDIANS, GRANDPARENTS, AND GROUPIES (again)!
Just when you thought it was safe to read your OMS Newsletter again, it’s back!
Since our first attempt to tour the Allegan County Area Technical and Education Center (ACATEC) was thwarted by Mother Nature, we have been in intense negotiations to figure out another date. Finally, we can announce that the ACATEC trip will occur Tuesday, May 3. Barring another snow event, flood, hurricane, or plague(!), we are sending two groups that day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Also as before, we need parents willing to chaperone to help make this trip happen. If you would like to join us and experience first-hand the over two dozen different career development programs and opportunities at ACATEC for your child, we strongly consider chaperoning with us! No group will be larger than 15 students, and all groups are assigned an ACATEC docent guide that leads each tour. The morning group will gather at about 8:15 and be back at school by 10:45. The afternoon group will gather about 12:15 and be back by 2:30. Join us for this educational experience that is great information for both students AND parents! Contact our school counselor, Keith Fuller, at 692-6199 or kfuller@otsegops.org.
FYI: Because the choir and band students have performances a few days right after May 3, they have been assigned a tour already. Band students will tour in the afternoon, and choir students will tour in the morning in order to avoid their rehearsals: please keep this in mind if you should want to chaperone a group and would like your musically inclined child to tour with you(!). Thank you!
