Winter Program: December 17th at 7pm
Our students have been working hard on their Winter Program.
Mr. Hussain sent a packet with instructions on how to log into an online practice site if your student wants to practice more this weekend and next week to be ready for the performance.
Our class will be performing winter traditions from around the world on December 17th at 7pm. Students should report to my classroom at 6:50pm in order to be ready to walk down to the performance on time.
Mr. Hussain is asking students to wear semi-formal attire, like they might wear for picture day and shoes that are comfortable and easy to move around in (I think there is dancing involved). If you have any questions please direct them to Mr. Hussain.
I hope to see you at their performance.

Workshops
Writer's and Reader's Workshop: Students turned in their main idea diagrams for their research reports this week. We are working on how to do a great introduction and how to add a glossary for vocabulary.
Math Workshop: We learned about the distributive property of multiplication this week. It means that you can break down a multiplication problem into smaller and friendlier parts. So 9 x 6 is the same as 9 x 5 (we are all good at counting by 5s) + 9 x 1.
Social Studies: We summarized the reading we've done in Social Studies to help us work on main idea and supporting details. I love how hard kiddos are working on our timeline.
Yearbook Cover Contest
Homework
Students should read for 30 minutes each night.
10-15 minutes of math:
Please continue to have students bring in or email me examples of arrays they find in their world. We've gotten some wonderful arrays sent in, and we've even collected arrays from around the school.
The MobyMax website is a good supplement to student studying as well https://www.mobymax.com/signin
