Welcome Message from Principal Richard
Welcome to A New School Year
Greetings Parents, Guardians, and Students:
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year, the year of resurgence! As we reflect on last year and celebrate the great accomplishments of Clements Middle School from participating and placing in the Reading Bowl, Spelling Bee, Math, Social Studies, and Science competitions, we can clearly say our school is on a path towards greatness. We plan to continue this journey with you and your students this year.
We strive to challenge each student to grow in their academic abilities. Our teachers utilize
research-based best practices, analyze academic data to determine current skill levels, and set
goals for growth and improvement. Students should expect to engage in a rigorous curriculum
with high academic standards while having a fun middle school experience.
Keeping in mind our mission is Back-to-the Basics as we ignite a passion for learning and teaching at high levels, and we want all students to be well rounded and prepared for the future. In addition to being prepared to compete locally as well as globally.
Below are our beliefs regarding teaching and learning that we developed as part of this process.
We believe that effective teachers:
- Create opportunities for intellectual risk-taking, collaboration, problem-solving, and application of classroom learning to real-life situations;
- Implement strategies that promote ownership of learning to students;
- Design instruction to integrate a variety of innovative technological tools and resources to enhance learning;
- Demonstrate ongoing professional growth to increase the quality of instruction;
- Collaborate with colleagues to share and discuss exemplary practices, interpret student performance data, and design assessments that promote twenty-first-century skills.
We believe that successful students:
- Communicate in a meaningful way for a variety of purposes and audiences;
- Employ critical and creative thinking skills to solve problems; and
- Pose questions, examine possibilities and apply skills to find solutions to authentic issues.
- Make positive choices related to physical and mental wellness; and
- Contribute to the local and global community in a collaborative and respectful manner
