Clark Weekly News
For the week ending 4/1/22-- No foolin'!!!!!
Gratitude and Celebration!
Huge thanks for the staff breakfast provided by the family of Nevin Harwood!
Congrats to the Clark seniors recognized at the IRSC Distinguished Scholar awards yesterday!
Staff Crane Awards were presented to Ms. Hutcheson and Mrs. Ballard this week. A student nominated Ms. H and shared, "I would like to nominate Mrs H for the award because she has done nothing but give me the best experience as a student I’ve never learned more in an English class before. I have also never enjoyed English until I joined her class. I think she deserves this award because she brings smiles to everyone’s faces and is a great teacher."
Mrs. Ballard was nominated by another student and a couple of staff members. The student was very grateful as he was having a tough time emotionally and Mrs. Ballard helped him to calm down and work through his stress. She was nominated by staff because she has been covering shifts at the front desk, classrooms, any place we need and she goes with a smile on her face!
We are incredibly grateful to Holocaust Survivor, Mr. Schneider, who spoke to our students this week about his experiences. Our students were so attentive, respectful, and had wonderful questions for him.
Thanks to all of those who ate at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza this week to help raise funds for prom. A big thanks to an anonymous parent who donated money to buy our staff Anthony's, too! And finally, big thanks to Dr. Lehachi who helped by adding in some lemonade and cookies and picked up the food for us!
Many thanks to all who have donated items for the Girl Up! supply drive! Stay tuned to see how many care kits for young women we get to assemble!
Mr. Schneider with Mrs. Kohuth and some students.
Protection Provided for Cpl. Porcelli!
IRSC Proud award recipients!

Here is the video from the above presentation to get you thinking about the topic. If You Want to Change the World, Start by Making Your Bed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sK3wJAxGfs I highly recommend listening to Admiral McRaven's full speech, but this 6 min is worth a listen for sure. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak to the MCSD administrators during the pandemic and he is truly a remarkable leader.
I truly believe in this work and it is needed more than ever in the lives of our teens... but honestly, it is GREAT info for us all! I welcome your feedback. Call me 772-419-5758 or email me ljudd@irsc.edu

Senior Social Media Shoutout Time!!! Seniors- please fill out the following form so we can share your good news on our Clark Instagram and Facebook pages! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScnMrJf6Z0AMeeICLCFMjkMt6Ghut869wVw_mPE0X4lwhzAXQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
Every day is a celebration!
Make a Difference Mondays! Shout out to Mrs. Bartow, Mrs. Kohuth, and all of the Interact and SNHS members who volunteered at WaterFest and helped spread the word that water is life!
Take Care Tuesdays! Teens are facing greater levels of stress, but there are ways to take good care of yourself. Choose a creative outlet to convey your thoughts and feelings. This could be journaling, writing poetry, painting or drawing, doing photography, dancing, or playing music. The key here is channeling your emotional state through an art form. While some may choose to do this seriously and take lessons, self-taught artists of all kinds also get the job done. And, don’t strive for perfection! Simply immersing yourself in creative arts can ward off adverse thoughts and feelings.
Way to Go Wednesdays! Shout out to our 4 staff members willing to drive and stay up all night with our seniors at Universal this week. Thanks Mr. Omar, Mr. Judd, Ms. H, and Ms. Jones!
Thankful Thursdays! We have our very important speaker Mr. Schneider here today to share with students and staff about his experience as a Holocaust survivor. This assembly and its message could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, so your attention is requested.
Fun Fact Fridays! Today’s fun fact is we are closing school early to enjoy the beautiful weather…. Just kidding! It’s April Fool’s Day! Some historians speculate that April Fools' Day dates back to 1582… that’s a long time to play jokes on people!
