It's that time again to come out to the Humble Rodeo & BBQ Cook-off! Bring your family and experience all the fun with live music, food, vendors and much more. All proceeds from the Humble Rodeo & BBQ Cook-Off benefit the Humble ISD Education Foundation.

HUMBLE ISD "ASK AN EXPERT" PODCAST - BBQ COOK-OFF
Since becoming an addition to the rodeo in 2001, the Humble BBQ Cook-Off has grown to full capacity every year and has become an annual tradition for kids and grown-ups alike to compete in the skill of cooking.
In this episode of "Ask an Expert," Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off President Stacy Williams shares everything you need to know about this annual tradition taking place on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27.

77TH ANNUAL HUMBLE LIVESTOCK SHOW & AUCTION
Humble ISD is excited to welcome its 77th annual Livestock Show and Auction. Students participating in FFA & 4H from elementary to high school will be exhibiting their animals in hopes to earn a top 10 spot and be entered in our live community auction.

Freezer Sale: The Freezer Sale will be available for anyone to purchase an exhibitor’s animal that will not be sold in the auction or did not secure a guaranteed buyer.

HUMBLE MUSEUM PRESENTS A REVOLUTIONARY EXPERIENCE, JAN 27
The City of Humble and the Humble Museum are hosting a free community event that recreates Revolutionary-era history with a variety of activities including military demonstrations, a short play with local high school student actors and interactive stations where children can make 18th-century crafts. The free event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, at the Humble Museum, 601 Higgins Street in Humble. More Information on A Revolutionary Experience
HUMBLE ISD OUTDOOR PLAY & FITNESS AREAS
Humble ISD is reinvesting in the community by adding immersive, imaginatively-themed playgrounds at all elementary schools, and outdoor obstacle and fitness courses at secondary schools. Outdoor equipment is open to the public on elementary and middle school campuses when school is not in session. All are built on handicap-accessible, poured-in-place rubber surfaces, with fall protection.

STUDENT TRANSFER APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED THROUGH FEB 14
Parents who would like their child to attend an Humble ISD school that is different from where the child is zoned to attend, based upon their home address, must obtain an Approved Student Transfer. The application period for requesting student transfers for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, January 8, through Friday, February 14, 2024. Please visit the Student Transfers website for more information. You will be able to see and complete the 2024-2025 application beginning on Monday, Jan. 8. Applications are processed in the order they are received.
Mental Health & Wellness Fair: Thursday, February 15 / 6-8 p.m. / Humble Civic Center
The Humble ISD Health & Wellness Fair will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, at Humble Civic Center. This free opportunity will feature representatives from a range of community providers to help students, families and staff maintain mental health and wellness. Guests will also be able to meet and greet with providers, and have opportunities to win great door prizes!
Social Services for Parents of Young Children; A Community Coffee Chat: Friday, February 23, 2024 / 9-10 a.m. / Early Childhood Center, 8105 E. North Belt in Humble Join us to learn about the Harris Center for Mental Health & IDD. Social Security, and other services available for you child. Resources and outreach information to improve their lives through accessible, integrated and comprehensive systems of care will be provided. Register for Social Services for Parents of Young Children
HUMBLE ISD INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS PUBLIC SHOWCASE
The community is invited to review and provide feedback on instructional materials that Humble ISD is considering for adoption under Proclamation 2024. The materials include Science K-12, Personal Financial Literacy and Economics, and select Career and Technical Education courses in the Education and Training, Health Science, Law and Public Service, STEM, and Energy clusters. The adopted materials will be implemented for the 2024-2025 school year.
There are several opportunities to view materials in-person, now through February 8.
SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH
January is School Board Recognition Month. School Board members are volunteers who donate hundreds of hours to attend meetings, consider issues, set policy and participate in student and community events. Thank you to our Humble ISD Board of Trustees!

HUMBLE ISD FAMILY RESOURCE AND TRANSITION FAIR, FEB 17
Join us for a Family Resource and Transition Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, at Atascocita High School, 13300 Will Clayton Pkwy, Humble, TX 77338. Families and students with disabilities of all ages are welcome to come and learn about community and government resources supporting individuals with disabilities. HUMBLE ISD GOLF CLASSIC, FEB 19
The Humble ISD Golf Classic is Monday, February 19, at the Kingwood Country Club, 1700 Lake Kingwood Trail. The Golf Classic, attended by over 500 golfers and volunteers, supports the golf programs at Atascocita, Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Summer Creek High Schools. INNOVATIVE EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION
The Humble ISD Education Foundation funds innovative and creative projects that enrich student learning experiences. IE grants are awarded to teachers, programs, and departments across the district.
Visit the Education Foundation website for information on the application process, resource videos, and grant writing workshops. The district-wide grant writing workshops provide tips on how to develop a winning grant proposal. Register for an upcoming IE Grants Workshop today. Submit your application before 11:59 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024.
CHEER TRYOUT PREP CLINIC, FEB 23
Do you plan on trying out for a cheer program this year? If so, you are invited to sign up for a cheer tryout prep clinic open to all students and hosted by the KPHS Varsity cheerleaders and Coach Brittni Sharp! The clinic is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 23, at Kingwood Park High School.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS
The Humble ISD Education Foundation offers several scholarships for graduating seniors. Students can apply to many scholarship applications using one portal.

HUMBLE ISD VAPING AWARENESS NIGHT, MARCH 26
The 2nd Annual Humble ISD Vaping Awareness Night will be held at Atascocita High School from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday March 26, 2024, in the Performing Arts Center. Come and learn valuable information about vaping from a medical expert and various community vendors.
There will also be a Virtual Parent U on Vaping from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4.
Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. This information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms. humbleisd.net/firearmsafety.
