May 2022, Joyful Teaching! Joyful Learning!
From the Principal's Desk . . . Jacqueline Cubberly
I hope this message finds you well.
What is Character?
We each have qualities that make us who we are. Some of these are physical qualities we can see. Others are qualities we can't see - thoughts, ideas and beliefs that are important to us and that guide our actions. These "inside" qualities make up your character. Honesty, respect and fairness are examples of positive character traits.
During the month of May, as a school we are exploring, learning about and displaying EMPATHY.
Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position.
Enjoy the warmer weather. Be safe and well.

BOOKS! BOOKS! And More BOOKS!
Every child had the opportunity to select up to three books, using PAW TICKETS, which they earn by following our Code of Conduct with our SWPBIS Program.
Students were thrilled to pick their books and we were thrilled to be able to provide them in helping to create life long readers and learners.
Parents also had the opportunity to take some books home while they were here for Parent Teacher Conferences.

Mrs. Fowler's class also learned about his unique illustration process, and we tried it out ourselves!
Students created four different patterns, then cut and glued to make a new picture, just like Eric Carle. Check out our amazing creations!
