TMS-THS Families,

We are off to a great start! I want to take a minute to thank all the families, students, staff, and community members for their efforts in creating a positive and productive start to the school year! It feels great to have our students back and engaged in meaningful and impactful learning experiences.

As we navigate this school year together, please know we are your educational partners. Feel free to reach out if we can be of any assistance.

Digital Tools Used at Triton

Triton Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software are utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We have an inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools posted at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1unjuIsIGGM2021Tdas_yEXLTsqA4oD1gkgZ_SXMUujA/edit?usp=sharing and include an outline of the student data elements within each tool. This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.

Please reach out to Technology Coordinator Rebecca Goossens (rgoossens@triton.k12.mn.us) or Technology Integrationist Coltt Ullom (cullom@triton.k12.mn.us) for additional questions regarding specific digital tools used in classrooms.

Sincerely,

Triton Public Schools

Student Accident Insurance

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Triton School District is not responsible for any accidental injuries that occur to students while under the school’s supervision or participating in interscholastic sports.

Our School District has partnered with Student Assurance Services to give families the opportunity to purchase accident insurance for their student(s). When enrolled, this coverage provides financial assistance with your out-of-pocket medical expenses should your student sustain an accidental bodily injury.

Reasons to consider coverage for your student:

  1. Your primary health insurance has a high deductible – copay – coinsurance.

  2. No other insurance on your student.

  3. Your student participates in a sport where unexpected injuries commonly occur.

If you have any questions regarding this voluntary student accident insurance program, please contact Student Assurance Services at (800) 328-2739. You will speak with a live person who can assist you with your questions

Upcoming Grade Check, September 20

We wanted to remind all families and activity participants that the first grade check of the school year will be taking place after school on Tuesday, September 20. Students that are not passing all of their classes will be ineligible to participate in games/contests until all grades are improved to a passing level.

Triton Backpack Program

The Triton Public School’s Backpack Program provides individual bags with kid-friendly foods to be used over the weekend when school meals are not available. The goal is to provide 2 breakfasts, 2 main meals, 2 fruits, and 2 snacks per child for the weekend. In addition, each family receives a Dodge Center Kwik Trip voucher every week that may be used for bread, milk, or eggs.

Please access the document below for additional information.

Profile of a Graduate Self- Awareness

The Triton Profile of a Graduate is our locally developed approach to what it means to be a graduate of Triton High School. We have incorporated many principles and competencies designed to help all students develop the skills necessary for success in college, in a career, and most importantly in life.

The Profile of a Graduate is designed around a community-engaged process to create a beacon for future educational strategic planning. It presents a clear visualization of priority goals for teaching and learning that can be easily communicated to students, parents, and staff to align collective efforts.

Our Profile of a Graduate theme for September is SELF AWARENESS. Students will be involved in homeroom and advisory experiences to reinforce and model self awareness. We are excited about implementing more direct methods to help our students develop the skills needed to be successful human beings

Triton Live Streaming

We have received feedback from our community and families that they would like to see live streaming of events continue. We are excited to let you know that we view live streaming as an opportunity to connect our school community and that we also want to see this service continue.

Live-streamed games and activities can be found on the Triton Activities YouTube channel and also at www.triton.k12.mn.us under the High School Tab. You can also go back and watch previous games and events.

Thank you for tuning in and for supporting our athletes and activity participants.
