What's Going on in the Principal's Office?!
Welcome 2014 & the Challenges Yet to Come!
I hope that each and every one of you had a terrific winter break and I hope that you actually took some time for your self! Amanda and I went out of town for three days at the start of the break to see my father. We returned home to spend Christmas with Amanda's family. Both Amanda and I were able to spend some time working on projects that we had put off over the fall semester... we actually made it 11 full days without talking about school!
I am ready to come back to school and tackle this Spring semester and I hope you are too. This fall we have been able to gain a lot of momentum with our students and their parents by being positive, firm, supportive, and consistent in our daily work. Please continue that as we progress through the spring. Please take a few moments to reteach your routines and expectations with the students. Spending a few minutes at the start of class periods this week to remind students of your expectations will help them to be successful in meeting your expectations. Please do not fall into the trap of assuming that students will remember your expectations.
As the spring semester develops there will be more challenges to come as we prepare for state assessments. Please be planning and preparing in your departments now with regards of how to meet the needs of all students in preparing them for their assessments. Having these discussions now will allow us to develop a plan to help our students be successful and reach their full potential.
Remember that "Teamwork makes the Dreamwork" so do not feel you are working in isolation. Use every resource and person at your disposal to help our students succeed. Together we can do it!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.
