Brrrrr it is Cold!

As we enter the weekend and head into next week many of you know the forecast for snow, wind and extremely cold temperatures. Carol Smith sent an email yesterday regarding the process the district will follow. Please make sure that your kids are wearing hats, gloves/mittens, and warm boots if out even for short periods of time.

Today we had our kick-off assembly for St. Baldrick's foundation. I have included pictures from last years event below.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

I can tell our students are excited about the opportunities available to them in our After School Enrichment program. The program starts on Monday, January 28th and concludes on Friday, February 8th. There is no need to send/email your teacher or office to notify that your child will be attending ASE that day. The staff has a list of students of the children and what they will participate in daily. All classes are from 3-4:15. Please check your schedule to make sure you know what days your child attends these classes.

Middle School Transfer Requests:

Families who wish to submit Middle School Transfer requests may do so beginning February 4. The request form will be available on the District 303 website through February 28. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want transferred. Requests are granted based on space available so siblings are not guaranteed placement.

Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.

Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance are responsible for their own transportation.

Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.

Project Dance Groovy Information

Project Dance Groovy team members visited or will visit all of the schools in the District with an informational letter, a packet of flyers and a large poster to hang around your school to promote our event on February 23rd from 1-5 pm at the North Main Gymnasium.

This is a family friendly event supporting awareness and resources for individuals with special needs in our community, hosted by SCN's Team Polaris.
