Certification Protocol

If you are interested in certification this year, please note that these are contracted dates with Marzano Research associates. Because of that, we want to make sure you and your campus are ready prior to scheduling those visits. Below you will find a Certification Protocol that outlines the process as well as a copy of the Certification Application that must be returned to your R9 support staff before certification will be scheduled.

Surveys

Keep in mind that the data from your surveys, whether those conducted through Marzano Research or locally, will be used to action plan for the level at which your campus is currently working. You want to ensure that the date you have is both useful and representative of the audience targeted.


Cohort 4: Your surveys through Marzano have closed at this time. Your reports are being run so that you will be ready to do your action planning October 3. If you have any additional data from surveys you conducted on your campus, please be sure to bring it at that time


Cohort 3: Your surveys will close October 28 so that you will have the data you need to action plan November 7 (which will be a unique day of planning...stay tuned!). Again, if you have any data collected locally (through Google forms, Survey Monkey, or paper copies), please bring that with you. You may want to analyze that data prior to your session so that it can be used easily.

Instructional Models

During our most recent training, Cohort 3 schools learned more about having a campus instructional model as part of Level 2. There are many ways to create this document. Because each campus and district may have different priorities, there is no one right way to create this model of instruction. What is important is that the model streamlines the initiatives used on each campus AND is used on a regular basis to guide conversations and planning.


Some campuses use a faculty meeting as a way of looking at the key components of each initiative and matching them up with similar ideas from other initiatives. Others use PLC meetings as a time to discuss what an effective model of instruction would look like at that particular campus.


Below you will find a couple of examples from schools in our region.

NASOT

As part of the conversation on instructional models, Cohort 3 Leaders discussed the New Art and Science of Teaching. If your campus includes teachers that were previously trained on ASOT, it is important to note that any teachers being trained this year will receive training in the new version of this instructional framework. In order to facilitate the transition, we have put together a short video on the differences between the two versions.

As explained during our training session Sept. 12, the October 4 session will be on-site instructional rounds. Each campus should have selected 3 people to attend this session, and those 3 people should have been notified of the location and time (either morning or afternoon) by email. The rest of the team will NOT be attending training that day.

Session #308526 will be your action planning day for Level 1. Be sure to bring any local survey data you collected as well as the survey report from Marzano Research that should be emailed to you prior to the session.
