This Week's Lessons

I hope you all are enjoying a safe and fun Superbowl Sunday. This week we will be continuing on in our unit on American Contributions by learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and George Washington.

Writing-Students will write a letter to the president and begin drafting an opinion piece about why he or she would be a good candidate for president.

Reading-Students will read books about Martin Luther King Jr, George Washington and general books about being President of the United States. Students will be able to describe character traits of a good leader.

Spelling/Phonics- Contractions (I'm, isn't, can't, don't, it's, let's)

Sight Words- another, done, each

Math-Topic 10-Students will add with tens and ones. This topic introduces two-digit addition. It is important that students know addition facts through 12 at this point in the school year. Please practice both addition and subtraction facts at home.



Tues-PE, (Please return library books)

Fri-No School-Teacher Professional Development Day


*On Thursday February 11, we will be doing a Valentine Exchange at the end of the school day. This past Friday I sent home a class list so that your child can address Valentines for each student in our class. We will be decorating Valentine bags for our Valentines, so no need to send in pre-decorated boxes or anything.
