Public Comment on Non-Agenda Items

Questions were raised by two Parkland residents about the new fees for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey with the concern that the new $3.00 fee for students may prohibit attendance. Superintendent Sniscak reviewed the timeline for the implementation of the fees, explaining this was part of the original discussion for the turf field project as part of raising revenues to sustain the field which will require an update every 8 years. He further explained that we currently allow for free admission to events after half time, and that the lacrosse fees raised this past spring totaled more than $10,000.00 and did not seem to negatively impact attendance.

Several Board members thanked Dr. Troutman for his goals report. Rob Cohen commented on the Board's ability to discuss items in a collegiate and professional manner, even though there may not always be consensus on a topic. David Hein extended his well wishes to the staff for a successful 2016-2017 school year.
