East Parent Update

10/16/2020

End of the School Day Pick Up

As we figure out ways to improve the flow of traffic at the end of the day, we appreciate your patience. The pick-up/drop-off line, like we have been doing is still an option, and now parents will also be able to park in parking spots in the west parking lot. We are creatures of habit and when parents are consistently parking in an area, students will be able to walk directly out to their rides. We do ask that parents not line up along the side of the parking area close to the drive because this is considered a fire lane.

Athletic News

A friendly reminder that all students must be registered for athletics using Register My Athlete before participation in Girls Swim and Dive, Boys Basketball, and Competitive Cheerleading for Winter 1. Please see the athletic newsletter for additional information.

Let’s raise funds and support our school!

HELP US DUNK MR. AVINK.

*We want to take it a step further! IF we win, we will randomly choose a couple of students from our donors to help pick a fun, appropriate outfit for Mr. Avink to wear in the dunk tank. Let’s do this ERMS!!! See below on how to donate TODAY!

Donate to the Rockford Education Foundation between now and October 27th and include ERMS as your school of choice. Our school will receive all donations designated to our building in the form of educational grants! If ERMS is one of the top three fundraisers we will see Mr. Avink dropped in a DUNK TANK during the REF's LIVE STREAM event on at 6pm on October 27th.

To make a donation: Text ROCKFORD to 616-441-4192 or visit www.rockfordEDfoundation.org/hall-of-fame

NWEA Fall Testing Complete

We have officially wrapped up our fall NWEA testing. In the coming weeks, we will be sending home a letter along with your child's report.

We are proud of how hard our students worked on these tests. We will have another testing session in January and in the Springtime.

Rockford Virtual

Rockford Middle School Students who are considering a change of educational program must formally request a change in Family Access on October 20 or 21. This applies to current virtual students who plan to return face-to-face AND also to current face-to-face students who plan to transfer to virtual.

It is critical that you review the updated information on the webpage before making this decision. The virtual program cannot replace many in person electives and is 100% digital, meaning there are no live lessons. Please carefully consider this choice before requesting a transfer.

The deadline must be tight to ensure that both in person and virtual schools have the necessary staff. Thank you so much!
