A Note From Ms. Mathis and Dr. Funderburk

Happy fall! We wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support and engagement last month. We had many opportunities through parent-teacher conferences and our family night to talk with many of you, and it is clear we have amazing families! Continue supporting your students by engaging with classroom teachers, reading newsletters, and checking PowerSchool weekly. As always, if you ever need anything contact your child's teacher or the appropriate Burt staff member. We look forward to an eventful October! Please read through the Newsletter to see all of this months upcoming information and events.

Families, please remember if you have a concern or issue, it is always best practice to communicate with your child’s teacher first as they will have first-hand knowledge of your student. If you need to meet with an administrator, please call the front office or fill out a parent meeting form in the front office and an administrator will get back to you as soon as possible. On any given day, administrators have many scheduled meetings and other school operation duties and likely will not be able to meet with you on the spot. Please allow us the opportunity to schedule the meeting with you so you will have a designated time and have our full attention so we can meet the needs of your student.

Reminders From the Office

Early Dismissals- Please keep in mind that there are NO dismissals from the front office after 3:00 pm. Students must be here for at least 3 hours and 31 minutes in order to be counted as present for the day. In addition, students are learning from the time school starts until the very end of the day, so please try not to dismiss your student early every day.

Contact information-Please make sure you keep us up-to-date on all phone number and address changes, as well as emergency contact information. Changes in contact information for your child can be entered at parents.cmcss.net

Changes in transportation-If you are needing to change the way your student will be getting home on any given day, please send in a hand-written note. We cannot accept changes over the phone as it is difficult to fully verify your identity.

Photo IDs-A government-issued ID is required in order to dismiss your student early. Anyone who comes to pick your student up must be on the emergency contact list. The same will apply in the car rider line in the event the person picking up does not have a car tag

Emergency Contact Information

Parents we are entering that time of year when inclement weather can strike at anytime. Please make sure you have updated your students emergency contact information to include how they will go home in case of an Emergency Closing.
