A Note from the Principal

Dear SPB Families,


In a little over a week, we will kick off Catholic Schools Week 2021! Unfortunately, some of the events we regularly plan for we cannot do this year, but our committee has worked diligently to still make this a special week celebrating Catholic education. The new theme this year is: “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” We have three Open House events for prospective students, so please invite a family member or friend who might be interested in our school. Don't forget we have a New Student Referral Program where you can earn a $100 tuition credit next year for new students who enroll. Thank you to those who have already filled out a referral, and we look forward to sharing what makes SPB such an amazing school and parish community with prospective students and families!


Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is a busy but exciting week for our students, faculty/staff, and families. It is an opportunity for our school as well as Catholic schools across the country to celebrate our students, our families, and our school. Be sure to check out the CSW Calendar of Events. Be sure to mark your calendars for the evening of Sunday, January 31. We have planned for a Family Kahoot Night on Zoom. You don't want to miss it!


I am very thankful to be a part of a faith community that values Catholic education, and Catholic Schools Week will be a celebration of it!

More Catholic Schools Week Information


We will be Celebrating our Nation during Catholic Schools Week on Thursday, February 4. One way we would like to do this is by honoring our active military members during morning prayer.


Please send us the names of friends or family members who are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces so that we can honor them. Our broadcast booth announcers will read these names during prayer, and we will also have them displayed on our green screen.


Names can be sent to Mrs. Klepcyk at sklepcyk@saintpaschal.com by Monday, February 1.

Remote Learning

Please remember that remote learning is reserved for those who are missing an extended amount of school due to injury, sickness, or COVID-related situations (i.e. quarantine, etc.) or if they have chosen that option as their learning plan for the quarter. The office and teacher need to be made aware If your child is staying home for mild symptoms not related to COVID, and they should rest and recuperate during that time. Remote learning is also not intended for vacations. We ask that families follow this as it does present challenges for our teachers. Also, our nurse closely monitors symptoms for COVID so she would need to know the reason for the absence. Thank you for understanding.

EnrollMe Q&A

Thank you for beginning the process of registration for the 2021-2022 school year by using EnrollMe through Gradelink. We have been working out the little glitches and have been presented with questions that we are bringing to our Gradelink reps. Here are some of the answers we have received thus far:


Q: I don't believe I have a log in for Gradelink; how can I get one?

A: Email or call the school office and we will email it to you.


Q: Where can I find the "Re-enroll" tab?

A: Once you log into Gradelink, the "Re-enroll" tab appears along the left side. If it does not appear, be sure you are logged in under your parent account rather than the student account. Also, based on parent feedback, it may not appear if you are on a mobile device. We recommend you use a desktop device to complete the process.


Q: Once clicking on "Submit," are parents able to access the information to edit or to print documents?

A: If you believe you made an error, please email the school office and we will review the submitted information and make changes for you. Printing of documents is not an option for parents at this time.


Q: Is my child's (grades 1-8) enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"

A: Enrollment is not considered complete until the $225 registration fee is received by the office.


Q: Is my kindergartener's enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"

A: The enrollment process is complete once you submit the $225 registration fee; however, all incoming kindergarteners must go through kindergarten screening before final acceptance.


Q: Is my preschooler's enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"

A: The application process is complete once you submit the registration fee for the particular program in which you are interested; however, your enrollment is not complete until you receive an official acceptance (a hard copy) from the school office.


Q: Can I send one registration check for my preschooler and my K-8 students?

A: Please send one check for all students in K-8, and a separate check for preschool. You may submit them in the same envelope, but put the student name/s on each check.


Q: What if I change my mind about my tuition payment plan after submitting my enrollment?

A: Please email the school office and we will make changes for you.


Q: I have a new student to enroll at SPB; how do I add them?

A: Existing families that have children already in the school can add other children not currently enrolled. Because they are enrolling a new student, they will need to create a temporary registration account for registering the new student as the information for the new student is not yet in Gradelink. This is the same process that prospective families go through when enrolling their children. Keep in mind that the login credentials used to log into their Parent Portal will not work here.


  1. Parents will log-in to their Parent Portal using their Gradelink login username and password.

  2. They will then click the Re-Enroll tab on the left sidebar.

  3. They will click the Have a new student to enroll? link at the top right of the page.

  4. They will then follow the steps outlined in Enrolling a New Student.

Diocesan Tuition Grant & Aid through FACTS


FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by March 15, 2021. Applicants can apply online by clicking this FACTS link. Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:


  • Copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules.

  • Copies of your 2020 W-2 forms for both you and your spouse.

  • Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF.


All supporting documentation can be uploaded in pdf format online.


Documentation can also be faxed to 866-315-9264 or mailed to the address below. Please be sure to include the applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.

If you have questions or concerns about the application process, you may speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 866-441-4637.


The Diocese of Cleveland has provided a flyer explaining the FACTS Grant & Aid Application process. Remember that you must apply for Diocesan Tuition Assistance and complete the FACTS Grant & Aid application to be eligible to receive any assistance from the Saint Paschal Baylon GIFTS Program. The deadline to apply for first round consideration is March 15, 2021.

MAP Testing Revised Dates-January 11-29

The second MAP testing window of the year will be from January 11 - 29. We have pushed back the testing window by one week. MAP Growth tests are administered to determine a student's instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year). Students will once again only be tested in Math and Reading. Testing schedules will vary depending on the grade level. Following the end of the testing window, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth.


At home, you can help to prepare your child by ensuring that he/she gets plenty of sleep each night and eats a nutritious breakfast each morning. Encourage your child to do his or her best on each test. The goal is for the testing to provide a detailed picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn--whether it is on, above, or below grade level--and to plan instruction accordingly.

Virtual Open House for Prospective Students (Gr. 1-8)

If you know someone who might be interested in our school, please invite them to join us for our Winter Virtual Open House on Zoom on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. They can learn about our award-winning school and what makes it such a special place. The Virtual Open House will include a welcome from our administrative team, classroom visits, and an opportunity to ask questions. if you know of a family who may want to join our school community, please share information with them. Preschool Virtual Open House

If you are interested in enrolling your child/ren in our Saint Paschal Baylon Preschool, mark Thursday, January 28, 2021 on your calendar! The preschool team will be presenting information on our four different preschool programs beginning at 6:30 pm on Zoom. The Virtual Open House will include a welcome from our administrators, a chance to meet our preschool team, a virtual tour, and an opportunity to ask questions. Our preschool fills up quickly and space is limited in our programs, so you won’t want to miss this event. Please register for the event HERE. Kindergarten Virtual Sneak Peek

Are you interested in a "sneak peek" of our kindergarten? Be sure to mark Thursday, February 4, 2021 on your calendar! Our kindergarten team will present information on our kindergarten program beginning at 6:30 pm on Zoom. The virtual Sneak Peek will include a welcome from our administrative team, a chance to meet our kindergarten teachers, a virtual tour, and an opportunity to ask questions. New Student Referral Program

It's that time of year! Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now well underway, and we have already heard from some prospective families. Be sure you and they are aware of our New Student Referral Program. See the details below.

3rd & 4th Grade Parents-We Need YOU!


We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!


This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.


Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.


COVID-19 Volunteer Protocol: all recess volunteers are required to wear a mask and complete the Visitor Self-Screening form when they arrive at school.

A friendly reminder! As a parishioner, when you signed your application and enrollment agreement earlier this year, you were offered a discounted rate of tuition for Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School.


The parish counts on you to tithe in order for the parish to maintain our award-winning school. As you read in the bulletin, the parish supports the school in many ways, but especially financially. Our budget is based on each family’s status as having either the parishioner rate or the non-parishioner rate.
