Our Expanded Hybrid and Reopening Plans Have Changed
At the Board of Education meeting this past Tuesday, it was announced that all K-5 buildings in Enfield Public Schools will remain in the current hybrid learning model. That means that students in Cohort A will continue to attend in-person classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, Cohort B students will attend in-person classes on Thursdays and Fridays, and all other days will follow the remote learning schedules currently in place. This includes a continuation of asynchronous remote Wednesdays for all students.
We are all hopeful that over the next few weeks we will be able to revisit our plans for an expanded hybrid learning model followed by a full reopening in the weeks after that.
Valentines Day During the Pandemic
With the 100th day of school, St. Patrick's Day, and a multitude of other traditional celebration days just around the corner, we will continue to follow the same strict approach to health and safety in the hopes that next year we can return to established school traditions.
Word of the Day
The Word of the Day for Monday, January 25th was HABIT. A habit is a usual way of behaving; something that a person does often in a regular and repeated way. For example, we might say that it is important that you have good eating habits. Or you might have a habit of brushing your teeth every night before bed. Habits can be good and something you want to continue, or they can be bad and something you want to stop doing. You might hear your parents saying that it’s time to break a bad habit.
The Word of the Day for Tuesday, January 26th was PRIME. A prime number is a number that only has 2 factors – 1 and itself. The first five prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11.
The Word of the Day Thursday, January 27th was ABSORB. To absorb something is to take it in or soak it up. For example, if you spill your water bottle, you would use a paper towel to absorb it. In science, it is a condition where one thing takes in another substance.
