To the Naperville 203 School Community,

Our hearts are heavy as our entire school community mourns the loss of students and educators at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

When a traumatic event involving schools occurs, it can evoke a variety of responses from students and adults. It is important to reassure students and one another that our schools remain safe and to seek support, if needed.

Our Student Services staff and school-based mental health providers are prepared to support students should they want to process the events of yesterday. Additionally, here are some resources to support you with speaking to your student(s).

Those who are in need of support, yet may feel too overwhelmed to use the resources provided, are encouraged to reach out to a mental health professional. Visit ReferralGPS, the American Psychological Association’s Psychologist Locator, or use the Crisis Text Line and text HOME to 741741.

Please know that the safety of our Naperville 203 students and staff members is always our highest priority. We continue to work in partnership with the Naperville and Lisle Police Departments to ensure that our buildings are secure and provide a safe and protected environment where our students can learn.

In Partnership,

Dan Bridges, Superintendent of Schools
Lisa Xagas, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services
