From the Principal's Desk

The 2022-2023 school year is off to a great start. This school year will include our traditional athletics, assemblies and extracurricular activities. I encourage students to get involved in one or all of these activities in tandem with in person learning and academics. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 18 (4-7 PM) and Wednesday, October 19 (4-7 PM). There will be no school on October 21. Parent-Teacher Conferences are a great opportunity to meet your student's teachers and check on your student's progress through the 1st Quarter which ends on October 14. Please contact your student's teachers and counselor anytime you feel your student is in need of additional academic support.

Go Lions!

Key Club and the El-Ada Community Action Partnership are hosting a mobile food pantry the 3rd Thursday of each month throughout the school year. Distribution will take place in the front parking lot at Borah from 4pm-6pm. You or your parents can stop by and pick up a box of food on your way home. Food boxes vary by month but often include fresh or canned fruit, vegetables, meat and essential household items. We distribute to roughly 100 families each month and our supply is limited, so first come, first served.

Current dates for fall 2022:

- September 15th

- October 20th

- November 17th

- December 15th

Contact Rachel McIntosh at with questions.

The Borah community has benefited immensely from our Lions Share Food Pantry by having a resource located at school within the neighborhood for students and families to have convenient access to basic food and toiletry items. If you would like to make donations you can drop them off in the Borah Counseling Office to Kris King or you can make a monetary donation to the Lions Share Food Pantry account through the Boise School District Foundation. If your family is in need of more assistance than the pantry can provide, please contact our Borah Social Worker, Becky Woodland, at If you have questions or would like a list of frequently used items, please contact Kris King at 208-854-4387 or

Borah Support Groups

Does your student need extra support?

Borah is offering support groups to all students and are accessed by both those seeking connections and those needing intensive support. The purpose of a support group within the high school setting is to provide participants with a comforting, safe environment where they feel free to express themselves. In addition to providing emotional support, group participation also allows students to establish meaningful and trusting relationships with their peers. If you would like to sign your student up for a group or have any questions, feel free to contact our school social worker Becky woodland at or 208.854.6916

The Borah Library is open every day 7:20-3:20. Students can enjoy after school study time in the Library when “Lions Den” kicks off (select days 3:20-5pm). We assist students daily in finding the perfect book, be it print and/or eBook/eAudiobook. Students complete, print and submit assignments here. Students can access a plethora of professional and academic news and research through the “Database” page on our website. This is a 21st century library commons and we encourage students and classes to make use of our diverse collection of technology and tools: audio/video recorders, editing software, iMac, Adobe Suite, tablets, programmable robots, 3D printer, cutting tools, craft supplies and games. Stop by or check out more about the library on our website: We’re here for you 24/7! Also, if your student has any issue with their BSD issued Chromebook the Library is here to help!
