Keith Haring: The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing
About the Book
This is the true story of pop artist Keith Haring, who once was a boy who liked to draw. He drew and he drew no matter who told him to stop until he was famous around the world for his bold artwork! Haring believed art should be available to everyone not just people who go to museums and galleries and this belief led him to create art with many surprising people in many surprising places.
Dot Day is September 15
Our Book of the Month is perfect to help us celebrate Dot Day this year. International Dot Day was inspired by the storybook The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The book tells the story of a girl who begins a journey of creativity after a teacher helps her learn to "make her mark."

MAKE YOUR MARK
About the Challenge
The challenge will be completed at school this month. Mrs. Mattox will introduce an art project in the style of Keith Haring during art class, Mrs. Coburn will help students make their mark during guidance lessons, and Dot Day centers will be set up in the Makerspace. Dot Day is about making the world a better place through creativity, kindness, and service. We look forward to seeing all the ways our cubs make their mark on the world!
