2023 is off to a great start at OMS. We had the Winter Concert Series in January, reached the halfway point of the school year and Trimester 2, celebrated Black History Month in February, and more.
Take a look at some of the notes and photos below.
WINTER CONCERT SERIES A HIT!
The Winter Concert Series was held during the month of January. Congratulations to the Band, Chorus, and Jazz Bands from all grades for another amazing set of performances this winter. Teachers and students in our music program dedicated a great deal of time and effort to their craft and to these concerts. Once again, this year's Winter Concert Series allowed all who attended to see what excellence looks like on stage.

CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH
- The OMS Knightly News featured one historical figure each day.
- The Peer Leaders did a similar historical figure display on our main lobby bulletin board.
- The Student Council planned and judged a school-wide door decorating contest that was amazing! (see photos of winners below)
STUDENTS GIVING BACK
The Student Council has been working hard to make our school community a great place, including coordinating an amazing door decorating contest for Black History Month.
The Peer Leaders visited the Wilkins Elementary School to do arts and crafts with some of the students there.
The National Junior Honor Society also visited the Wilkins Elementary to assist some students in a culminating activity in science and math. They created individual robots using area and perimeter. Once finished, they did some reading to the Wilkins students. The NJHS students will be returning in April to help the Wilkins students prepare for their MCAS tests.
MID-TERM PROGRESS REPORTS
Believe it or not, late January marks the midway point of the school year. Mid-term progress reports for Trimester 2 are available for viewing in PowerSchool.
The "P2" column grades and the comments with those grades are for the mid-term progress reports for Trimester 2.
February Vacation will take place from Monday, February 20th through Friday, February 24th.
During the vacation, the OMS Office will be open from Tuesday through Friday from 8am until 3pm if you need us.
We wish all of our OMS families a safe and relaxing February break!
