- Book Fair all week. Students buy on Library Day (drop off and pick up for Library at MPR). Limit student visits during instructional times.
Important Reminders / General Info
- Color printing costs are up. Remember we pay for these items. Be mindful of what you are printing in color and its necessity, make sure it prints only once (and that you go get it), try to laminate items for re-use. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
- In attempt to shorten morning announcements, lunch menu and Second Steps units will no longer be mentioned. The Safe School Climate Committee felt these were handled by certified staff and were redundant. The Safe School Climate Committee felt these were handled by certified staff and were redundant. - Kim Laiso will be introducing Mindfulness Mondays during announcements...on.....you guessed it....Monday. Please keep students focused, we all listen- no working: Be Mindful ;0)
- The District will be partnering with PlayMakers (the gentleman who spoke at convocation). If anyone is interested in some training with PlayMakers- let me know.
- The NEF wanted me to share that not only do they provide grants for PD and resources but for assemblies as well. Send me or Jenna any thoughts or ideas.
- Jenna will be out and about speaking to classes about the roll out of our Anonymous Mean Behavior Reporting Box.
- For Paras: Linda and Dorothy sent out your options for this week to make up hours. There is cpi training if you are up for a refresher and are in a position that being trained is beneficial. There is the viewing and discussion of the Fat City video. Any other work being done for teachers needs to be approved by me in advance. Please remember not to exceed your hours. See Dorothy, Linda or me with any questions. Thank you for all that you do ;0)
Opportunities to Lead & Learn

Reminders:
- Continue to put Post Its on the Opportunities to Lead & Learn board outside Jenna's office for topics you wish to learn more about AND/OR topics you are willing to lead a conversation.
Progress Reports, PD Day, and Other Meetings, Oh My!
- November 7 is a Full Day PD Day for certified staff.
- PowerTeacherPro has added so many of the features that we wanted to make Progress Reports easier, I can not wait to show you- the morning of November 7.
- Allison Zmuda is conducting AM sessions on 11/7, new staff is welcome to attend, for most of us it is a repeat, so we get to do an edcamp, or as I call it: Opportunities to Lead & Learn.
- With the "faculty meeting" Progress Report discussion on the morning of 11/7 along with the Opportunity to Lead & Learn also happening on 11/7 ......I......see.......no......reason........for......any......other.............meetings........in.......November!!!!!!!!!

A huge thank you to Elena Kasseris for being our regular music teacher during our search and maintaining consistency for our students.

- Mike will be at the door until 4:30 PM on Tues, Wed & Fri. Any conferences after that, you will need to meet parents and let them in.
- Mike will be here until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
- Make sure Donna has a copy of your conference schedule by end of day Monday.
Food for Thought: VIDEOS & Summaries (Habits of Mind)
I am excited about the number of staff that are diving into Habits of Mind this year. I think this is such beneficial work, not only for our students but for us as well. Here is a link to a nice summary of each Habit of Mind.
