Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families! This week our Project Vinátta Student Kindness Coalition is promoting “One School--One Book” for the book, Speak Up! This spirited, vibrant picture book celebrates diversity and encourages kids to speak up, unite with others, and take action when they see something that needs to be fixed. The children learn that there are so many different ways to speak up and make their voices heard! From showing gratitude, to challenging a rule that isn’t fair, to telling a trusted adult something they know or see that is not safe--these young students show that simple, everyday actions can help people and make the world a better place. Our students have seen a guidance lesson featuring a read-aloud of the book, and are learning safe ways to speak up when you think something isn’t right, or see someone that is being mistreated, needs help, or just needs a friend. Students should also learn that if they are having a hard time, or struggling with something, it is ok to ask for help. Let’s all do our part to help children learn that when something really matters, one voice can make a difference!

New CDC Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated Persons
Now that vaccinations for Covid are more available, it's good to know how they affect your need to quarantine if exposed to Covid.
People who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after their last dose in the series) do not need to quarantine after a close contact.
Unlike people who have only a 90 day window of immunity after testing positive, fully vaccinated people are not limited to 90 days.
As it is still early in our vaccination experience, the CDC will continue to evaluate how long the protection lasts, but for now, it is considered ongoing!
Click here for the full guidelines.
