"All Together Adamson--Excellence In Action"

The Week of May 16, 2016

HAPPY BOSSES WEEK!

Happy Bosses Week to all of the Adamson Feeder Principals and Assistant Principals! This is your week to feel appreciated for all of the hard work that you do in the name of student success! Thank you for all that you do! Here's tp a fantastic week!

ADAMSON FEEDER PATTERN LEVERAGE POINTS

SLO, EXTENDED, and SUMMATIVE OBSERVATIONS!!!

There are exactly 4 schools days left to have all of these items complete. Principals should spot check regularly to ensure that all campus employees are on track. I will be monitoring progress closely this week to check for 100% completion.

TEI TIMELINES AND PROGRESS

MAY HAS ARRIVED and that means that the following deadlines are upon us!

May 10-25--teachers will verify their rosters in order to verify the students who will be included in the calculation of their student achievement results.

MAY 19th is the last day to conduct extended and summative observations.

MAY 19th is the last day to enter extended, summative and SLO scores into Schoolnet.

May 23-June 6 will be the teacher rebuttal window in oracle for summative performance evaluations.

June 2 is the last day to conduct spot observations and the last day to hold the summative conferences.

A Note From Your Executive Director...

Team,

Effective time management will be crucial this week as you work to reach 100% with all TEI requirements. Remember that we have a 1/2 day principal's meeting on Wednesday so plan your time wisely! :)

You should have received your invitation for your Systems Review Meeting 1. Please reach out should you have any questions about the preparation process.

Here's to a great week of teaching and learning!

FEEDER KUDOS!

KUDOS to Gilliam Collegiate Academy scholars for this week's graduation from Cedar Valley College! 37 students crossed the stage and are well on their way to attending a 4 year university. KUDOS!

KUDOS to Adamson's cross country runner Sergio for achieving third place in the mile run for the state. Great things are yet to come!

KUDOS to Team Bowie for packing out a STAAR Camp last Sunday. This voluntary session for teachers and students shows the level of commitment on this campus. KUDOS!

KUDOS to our Academic Facilitators for rounding out the school year with yet another informative session for our Campus Instructional Coaches. This week's Coaches Connection was a success!

KUDOS to Team Botello for being winners in the recent Lone Star Competition! KUDOS!

ACP Grade Requirements

This week's WAIP includes 2 memos that clarify policy around ACP exam grades and final semester grades. When looking at them, it seems as though the pages got mixed up meaning that the page for elementary schools includes information for secondary on page 2. I noticed the same for the secondary file. PLEASE READ BOTH MEMOS CAREFULLY so that you do not miss important information. Elementary has changes. When in doubt, reach out for assistance at the numbers at the bottom of the memo. THANKS!

THE PRINCIPAL 50

Critical Leadership Questions for Inspiring Schoolwide Excellence

Chapter 9: Parent and Community Engagement

QUESTION: Do I make parental and community engagement a priority in my practice as a school leader?

A satisfied and engaged parental and community support base can only help your school to soar higher. There will never be a time when parents and community members do not play a significant role in the overall progress of a campus.

PRINCIPALS MUST INTENTIONALLY ENGAGE PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

My charge to you is to be reflective in practice and look for areas that can be improved upon for improvement. GOOD TO GREAT!

Here's to a great week of teaching and learning!
