We Are A.R.M.Y. Strong!!

Each day, we say the Continental Creed: "As a member of the Continental Army, I promise to be Accountable, Respectful, Motivated to Learn, and do mY best." We also remind students of our school goal of achieving a letter grade of a B in three years or less....Students will hear us say "Are you helping us get to a B in 3?" If we all focus on being ARMY Strong every day, we will reach this goal!

Parent Meetings on the New Grading Policy this week

This year, the WMS staff will be transitioning to Standards-Based Grading. We want to be able to communicate what your child knows/doesn't know based on the list of skills students are supposed to be learning in each grade level. This means that grading throughout the quarter will be different from traditional grading. Please plan to meet us during an informational session on September 8th or 9th. We will have 7:30, 11:00, 2:00, and 6:00 sessions on both days. You can choose which session is convenient for you. As always, contact Ms. Branson or Mr. Merriwether if you have questions or concerns.

After-School Program Sign-ups This week

You don't want to miss out on the after-school programs at WMS! Get involved and be part of something with your fellow Continentals. This session, we'll be offering Penny Lane Study Cafe, Creative Writing/Art, Chess, Soccer, Anime, Book vs. Movie, Green Team, Hockey, and much more. Be sure to get your permission slip turned in by Friday. Programs start next week!

Basic Reminders

Please double check dress codes before leaving the house. Students are not allowed to wear stretchy or tight fitting dress pants. Also, any sweater or sweatshirt will have to be solid colors without a hood to be worn during the day. Students will be reminded to leave their cell phones, backpacks, purses, and hats in their lockers during the day. Thank you for helping us keep the integrity of the EVSC policies.

WIN (What I Need) Period Begins This Week

We will begin our WIN period this week. Students meet in an assigned class between 2nd and 3rd period to work on things they need. Some students have been identified as needing intense interventions in reading or math. Others will be working on basic math skills. If students do not need any of those skills, they will have opportunities for enrichment during that period. We will be scheduling more intentional sessions once we get in the routine of testing. This is just the beginning! We appreciate our Intervention Team for their work in sorting data, assigning students, scheduling teachers, and providing resources. They are an incredible part of our team!

Weekly subject area updates

Please see the links below to each of the grade level websites. Each website has the week's skills, assessments, resources and announcements for all subject areas in each grade level. Please contact Ms. Branson if you have any questions or concerns regarding the weekly communication from teachers.
