MS/HS Bulldog Bulletin

January 2020

Greetings from the MS/HS Office

Happy January Leeton Students, Parents, Families & Community!

Welcome to a new year and decade! I hope all Leeton School families had a memorable winter break. We are looking forward to a productive and rewarding remainder of the academic year. The return from winter break provides us with a great opportunity to review and rework routines and procedures in order for students to be more successful in school. Here are a couple ways you can help your student be successful each day at school:

*Please make a commitment to help your student get to school on time each day. If your student is going to absent, please notify the MS/HS office at (660) 653-4314 by 9:00 am.

*Feel free to contact your student's teacher with questions and ongoing concerns. Each teacher has their own email and phone extension for contact purposes. You can visit our school website for the staff directory at the following link:

As always, thank you for supporting Leeton's mission "To prepare each student for a diverse and rapidly changing world through excellent educational opportunities in a safe and caring environment".

Proud to be a Bulldog,

Jennifer Corson

Long Range Facility Planning Survey

We are currently working on a 10-year facility plan for the Leeton School District. We want your input. There are 11 sections that we are gathering information on. You may not have an opinion on all sections and that is just fine. Please fill out a survey. We are taking down everyone's responses and presenting them to the committee for further consideration. Thank you so much for helping the Leeton School District gather the information needed to develop a comprehensive long-term facility plan. We value your input.

  • We are excited to announce that two of our middle students, Lane Morgan and Landon Corson, are published authors! Last spring, Stephen Kozan conducted an author visit to Leeton where he spoke to students about his journey to becoming an author and the process of writing books. During his presentation, Mr. Kozan conducted a flash fiction writing opportunity where he chose Lane and Landon to become the published authors from Leeton based on their fictional writings. These students worked through the summer to write their chapters books and their finished products are finally here! Their books will be for sale at school events for purchase where you can receive an autographed copy, or you can go to the following website for purchase: All pre-sale purchases will be entered to win a Kindle Fire! A book release event will take place on February 4th during the home basketball games, where Mr. Kozan will be honoring our authors and celebrating their published books. We are so proud of Lane and Landon!
  • Please help Brooklynn Fleming and Hadley Shaffer collect items for their FCCLA project by bringing in animal food, toys, treats, old towels, and blankets to the home basketball game on January 21st. You will receive free admission to the game! (Flyer below)
